I’ve always thought that the dagger autoattack-chain probably does more damage than the sword-chain, but today I’ve tested it on a dummy in the mists and the time it took me to kill it with only using the autoattack was almost exactly the same. I was using a sigil of force on mainhand and a sigil of fire in the offhand.

So uhm… did I miss something, or are those two autoattack-chains equal in terms of damage-output?

A lot of the damage from the sword-auto attack chain comes from the last skill in the chain, crippling strike. And most players aren’t dumb enough to stand still while you land the entire chain. Hence, overall, the dagger’s auto-attacks will land more damage than the sword’s.

Sword AA has higher damage output compared to dagger. But backstab and heartseeker makes DD feel it’s stronger.

I believe the sword’s AA is a bit stronger HOWEVER the dagger’s AA is faster so it can be argued that the Dagger has a better DPS once time passes by for it to supersede the sword.

boa ey, test it and then u see that sword and dagger AA do the same dmg. AND very important^^ I’ve forgotten to say: ON SINGLE TARGET ;P

You guys should also remember that dagger has poison on the third hit. So if your dummy would heal himself now and then, the dagger will kill him faster with only AA.
