Hello guys. I’m back after long break and I have no idea about elite builds :P . I have Thief 80 and Guardian 80, I heard something about Daredevil and Dragon Hunter but I dont know which build will be better on PvE (Fractals, Raids). Would you tell me which build is better and why?

DH is better for both.

Both classes bring really strong dps, but a DH will also bring perma protection for melee along with reflects for where they’re needed. Thieves still don’t really have much utility that makes them really shine.

Both will still work just fine and there’s no content you can’t clear with either class, but you’ll have more group options and will generally bring more with a DH.

You’re thinking of open world, not raids/fractals, and guardian staff does the same thing in a huge cone, tagging 5 mobs instead of just 3. DH still wins. =P

Trap life 4 ever!

Dont go DH, its boring.. you place traps on point and wait until some noob come and die on that traps.. thats all you do. Just sitting behind the traps and hoping that somebody will attack you, DH is not fun. Most passive class in the game.
edit: takling about pvp.. in pve its kinda better than daredevil of course.

But keep this on mind. The elite specs were created mostly only for pvp.

Thief is the only class that has no place in a raid. In rest, thief is awesome. But don’t expect to raid with it.

wow. just wow. A bit jaded on the DH i think. First, as a medi-trapper, you have at least 3 leaps/teleports that you can jump into a group of mobs, and lay traps on top of them. Drop GS 4 and 3 and bomb, everything is dead (hot/veterans/champs/etc). trait LB for kb, and you have excellent control of taking on groups of mobs at a time.

If you are playing Dh passively, especially in open world, your doing it wrong. There is a strong meta in WvW where groups of DH’s trap choke points and lure folks in, but thats just a cheese tactic, and more pvp than pve.

Now, a daredevil is more ‘active’, only because if you are not moving/dodging you are dead (especially with Hot content). DH is more forgiving for soloing bosses and more valuable for group play (utils and tagging) though.

Are you speedrunning?
If not, then any class will work.
Even if you are, any class will work.

Composition and player skill is more important than the individual classes.

Ive seen you evrywhere on the theif forums, telling us to delete our toons, asking if you should main one telling random players asking questions that they should stay clear off the class based on wrong infromation why dont you just go kitten urself you bloody kittening idiot. how much of wasted kittening space can one human be.
