Deadeye Rifle Reflect
Should put this in the deadeye demo feedback thread you created.
Yeah I’ve noticed this too when playing on my Holosmith, I know the stealth attack is unblockable but there are times when I reflected the Death’s Judgement shot and it just disappears when I reflect it with magnetic bubble for example. Which sucks because almost all the DE’s are running zerker and it would probably kill them if reflected lol.
Yea, Shield Mastery for Warrior’s Shield doesn’t reflect Deadeye-Rifle shots, but for everything else it does.
The only thing I can reflect the shots are my Spellbreaker Dagger 5 skill, but rifle shots are bugged and not reflecting back with me Shield (traited) as intended.
Yes, this is a known issue and is expected to be fixed by release.
Tbh, i hope they keep it that way, You can reflect #2 but all the other skills not. Considering the amount of random kittening ass reflects theres is everywhere it will make no sense to even try to snipe someone, ull just get your ass kicked by random reflects.

Lol poor baby doesn’t want to think when using such a high damage attack? This is a L2P issue. Just don’t shoot when there’s reflects

Deadeye is currently a bad glass cannon. If it gets changed to reflectable projectile then nobody will play it except maybe bearbows who want option to perma stow pet.

I don’t get it. Warrior’s kill shot is reflect-able, takes longer to cast and is obvious, uses adrenaline, and does far less damage. You don’t see me complaining. I just don’t fire it when I see a reflect.

Have you tried roaming around in WvW? You can no longer fight without a deadeye being 1500 distance away hiding in stealth waiting to instant down you with a 20k damage spammable shot. I should be able to counter him by reflecting his shot back at him while I’m using an obvious reflect skill.

You counter a whole spec (and class) by just pressing one button. That’s really a l2p issue. Not.
if rifle skills are able to be reflected you would break the entire spec. The only time you can push out those really high numbers is a time frame of a few seconds when you have max malice stacks and before the mark goes off cd. You can easily dodge the shots since they have easy tells. Asking to make an entire spec completely null with a single button press is only asking for free kills.
tl;dr So it really is a L2P issue, you just need to learn to play yourself instead of breaking an entire class.
One change I MIGHT suggest that can give Rifle an edge over other ranged weapons (in particular p/p thief) is this.
Change the nature of Reflect. It works exactly as it does not except any Projectile reflected will not reflect back more than 1300 range. A Person with reflect up would still be protected from such attacks but if the sniper at 1500 that reflect will not hit him.
Alternatively and perhaps this more equitable , have the reflected damage drop after the reflect travels more then 1200 range.

sorry bro but i have to agree with EvilSardine, the reflect is clearly visible, you can stop attacking/enter stealth and wait it out or change you weapon and use melee until you see fit then just shadowstep away in stealth and finish him off.
Reflecting lock out our weapon set and trate line completely but we have another weapon set to use and it is for just a couple of seconds, if you die to reflect you got outplayed and deserve to die.

I’ve been roaming all weekend and met 2 deadeyes in total. Solo roaming the dd is 10x stronger due to being practicly immortal with all the evades and heavy AoE dmg. 1v1 should be fine, depends on what you meet. 1vX its easily swamped. Deadeye IMO need its own havoc group to work decently.
Thats not bad per say, I still like the spec and I am sure good thieves will find some way to exploit it to the max, but I really dont see it taking over from the dd in terms of roaming. Sort of the same deal with rifle warrior. Yeah it got range, yeah you can roflstomp people with killshot, but when was the last time you saw it in the meta? Nike warrior beat it for the same reason dd will beat de.

I said i don’t mind if they do end up changing it because i understand thats how reflects work and i will play arround it and hove no issue with that.
