Never tought that a build based on stealth + Death Blossom bursting would be something that gets someone whining ^.^

Seriously, stop the thief whine…

just another person who is not interested in countering and learning how to counter the thief, i have no trouble killing thieves so i rolled one as i think i can do better, to my surprise they are hella fun, and as a post sayd below (has always been my stance anyway) is not OP, not a noob class and relies a lot on skill, more than what some people realise.

But he only asked you to spam it more, what is so wrong about this? o_O

Yep Death Blossom with 2x 2H sword is pretty strong

I run a D/D bleed thief that everyone seems to think is the Unicorn build (totally different utilities and traits, though). Death blossom is great, but people whine and seem to think that you have 60% evade uptime…… Right.

@OP i made a d/d evade bleed/condi build and it was great….80% of the time. unfor the are a couple of HARD counters for it. the main being ele’s. no reason for that guy to go off about how OP it is. :P against simpler melee builds its an easy matchup…so he must have been one i am assuming yes?

Because there’s a 99.99% chance that the guy was being sarcastic and was in fact complaining about it.

I LOVE Death Blossom. If I have two daggers equipped it’s just for spamming that.

that and a staff necro is untouchable for a DD dodger/condi build

axualy ele and necro ( cause of there enormous amount of ground denial aoe’s and condition removals)

its a strong build , but beeing closecombat and the lack of different conditions makes it a not fit for tpvp build where conditions cleanses are evrywhere.

Well no need to be bothered, since there is no other d/d way to inflict bleed.

I’m hoping that they’ll eventually add torment condition to dancing daggers
( number 4 DD),
That would make DD a viable condition build for tpvp even
atm dancing daggers is not worth the ini spend for any build.

i think that death blossom needs the evade time removed !

Why would it need the evade time removed?

It only evades for 1/4 second, but lasts 1/2 second.

If you stun near the end of it’s animation, or lay aoe down on someone using DB then they take damage or get stunned.

The only way to cancel a DB and get away safely is to weapon swap (cancels the animation) and then dodge away to avoid the stun/aoe. Other than that, the thief is stuck in animation and is a sitting duck.

I love DB, use it a lot myself, but this is a big weakness that makes itself known if you ever use DB regularly.

I think he was a sword/pistol shatter mesmer, I just dodged the burst and used death blossom whenever I had over half of the initiative. The rest was just jumping around and stealthing. I wasn’t even spamming it so hard, I did like DM, dodge DM DM dodge combos on him.

He even tried to escape with stealth and blink, but there is no escape from shadowstep → 1500 range steal (mug + stealth + 5 initiative + vigor and steal 2 boons) → 1k backstab → death blossom.

Well it would fit the theme of DD, but then it only would have like a 1 – 2 second
duration, or a raise in the ini cost, which I wouldn’t like.

he never said it was op. he was just frustrated having a thief dance all over him with 1 skill.
