This is a very simple suggestion.

I was thinking (please correct me if I’m wrong) that death blossom can change from being a leap to a spin (visually, it will look like a warrior’s second axe skill maybe)

With everything remaining the same; evade and all. The graphics change would allow players who are up agains the death blossom spam people to run out of range. This isn’t going to be a huge nerf due to the fact that thieves will still have all the perks of death blossom.

However, without the leaping which causes other players to moan and complain about how they can’t counter it. Now they can either run away from the thieves, or fight the thieves throught the death blossom spin.

Please correct me if I’m wrong, but a simple graphics change would allow death blossom to not change much to a thief’s playstyle and yet give a slight advantage to those who can’t see where the thief is going to be because he is constantly leaping. Even if he is evading, at least you’ll know where he is going to be and where you can run off to

Playing melee thief in dungeons is almost impossible, we need Death Blossom to dodge, not only to evade the attacks but also to move to the backs of the mobs

shouldn’t you already be behind the mob? so DB actually brings you infront of the mob and in harms way most of the time? Thiefs have more then enough dodge and one of the reasons i stopped running D/D condition with DB on my thief was the number of times the skill ends with me exactly where i do not want to be.

Also, Thief was made to be a fast and agile class.

And if you dont know when to use your DB to dodge its your problem

death blossom has an innate evade skill so whether ur being positioned somewhere else doesn’t matter. i’m not talking about removing the evade i’m simply saying removing the repositioning aspect of the skill

At the writing of this, I have a level 33 thief and have not currently stepped foot into the PvP environment of this game. With that in mind, here are my thoughts:

I like my thief’s reposition ability just the way it is. There are times when enemy npc’s will turn to face a thief and attack. Being able to both avoid the incoming attack and get back behind the enemy again is a great tool to have in those situations.

It also consumes a hefty amount of initiative points which means I can not use it as often as I’d like…which is fine. If I need to avoid an attack that many times as to use up all of my initiative on it, then I’m probably not going to last long anyways and will be forced to change my strategy (and weapons) which generally results in my not having the skill to use anymore.

Builds around DB have to be the worst thief build going (apart from deliberatly gimping yourself). I’ve seen these fellas come flipping at me in spvp a lot recently and they are simply food to a P/D thief.

Builds around DB are horrible at PvP, but are good in dungeons.

Agreed, unless P/D is their second weapon set

I like to open with pistol, then swap for DB when they get too close or if a thief pops SR.

Yeah d/d is my other set… And I do DB… But it’s rarely worth it.
