Q: Do you find any profession to be out of balance like Ele bunker, roamer, thief one shot combo, mesmer portal?

Even the question has exaggerated one shot cause that doesnt happen but whats on the watch list? Ele bunker I don’t see thief anywhere so all the prophet threads about knowing that a nerf is coming hopefull slowdown as I know people will still make them. This should get some bumps to keep it front page maybe people will stop writing same thing over and over again.
Even if bunker ele is on the watch list doesn’t mean they will change it.

You just need to ask that CoS thief to give you updates on how to play you’re thief again.
Because Anet realizes that the “one hit” combo isn’t actually that great, at all. It preys on players with lack situational awareness, and it’s horrible in 1v1s, not to mention the build in a zerg…
It really is a solo roaming build in WvW to kill stragglers who don’t like to look behind them, or really just have no clue how to counter. If you’ve played spvp, you would know exactly what I mean. People don’t complain about thieves there, mostly because they are the same level/gear, more experienced, and it’s not some giant, scary, open enviroment where people don’t pay attention. The “one shot” can be prevented, but it’s dependent on the player. I know many players(myself included) who have no been killed by this in a very long time, because we apply counters and situational awareness.
A few things on this matter.
1. Despite popular opinion, Thieves aren’t the biggest balance issue in tournament games. Yes, one-shots aren’t fun to play against but there are larger imbalances at stake. The Thief also has to pay a large price for his damage.
2. Thief “instant-gibs” have been on ANets radar for a while now. They’ve had quite a few chances to nerf it but haven’t really thus far. Maybe their numbers show that people are learning to deal with it.
3. Most players in WvW don’t actually play an “all out one-shot” build. Instead many opt for at least a few points in Shadow Arts.
The funny thing is when they made a comment about thieves and said something like “and newer players not understanding how to deal with stealth”.
Finally, a dev saying it is a L2P issue. 100% agree devs.
Anet tests these balance issues, that’s why they are a good company. People can whine all they want, but unless the developers deem it, it will not happen.

Right, because when facing a thief, you automatically turn into a statue that must stand there the entire fight with no abilities while he attacks you.

The answers are given ,based on statistics also , not only on tests. even if the test will show the thief is ok , and majority of population will demand an change , the service provider will try to make the majority of customers happy.
The complains related to thieves at the moment, come from random wvwvw roamers, not by major zerg players. However they decided to balance the aoe, , without any forum complains since they saw that in zerg vs zerg , warrior can rally arround 5 times if his team push before he get stomped, just by spamming aoe with axe and gs or hammer betwen 30 enemy’s . Same happen with guardians that can toe to toe on melle and elementarists wich can hit 20 targets before they get downed, they get up press 2 buttons and they hit 10 more.
There really is no reason to nerf thieves right now. Once culling is fixed, I will feel extremely weak on my thief in wvw. My necro already feels like a beast, so I guess if they nerf thief burst without buffing our HP or sustained dps, Ill really have no reason to log on.

That’s funny because the typical thief players response to any player of another class who talks about not logging in is: “LOL, seeya!”
Say goodnight to shortbow thieves. AOE bad, single target insane burst good.
Funny…I see no mention of the thief. Perhaps it has moved from watch list to action list.

Yeah, sure. Keep on hoping, or stalling ….
Well for starters, thieves that abuse the culling issue are manageable but terribly annoying so I can see why they aren’t mentioned. So fixing culling is a massive nerf to the current thief, I don’t see a need for anything else atm.
