^^as title says. Given consistent (sometimes absolutely dubious) nerfs to thief class and buffs to other classes that reduced thief to running away pet in wvw/pvp and probably worst thing you could bring in raids, also considering recent absolutely unjustified nerf to improvisation, what is exactly your goal/plans/design for thief? Please explain us?

I don’t think THEY know. Or care. In fact, they should just delete the class and get it over with, since that seems to be their aim; getting people to stop playing thief. Well, it’s working.

But try not to tell too much truth. You can get infracted and your posts deleted for daring to criticize their kittenty thief balance. Or lack there of. Anet can’t handle the truth.
Oh, and if one wonders why I’m so cynical, consider; for three years the thief has endured nerf, after nerf, after nerf all because a bunch of cry babies couldn’t learn and improve, while other classes kept getting buffed, on top of the complete and utter lack of any dev presence on these forums, AND having all of our feedback completely ignored, while continuing to nerf the thief class into oblivion. I suspect it wont be long now until they shred the Daredevil into atomic pieces.

The June nerf is actually the indirect fault of 3 thieves on the forums. 2 always complained that the SA line was too strong, I discussed might stacking with someone and also explained how CiS works. So, they did listen to us and should’ve never done that. I hope the next balance patch will be without influence of the player base. And that they fix some bugs as some classes are “OP” because of that.

In PvP, their goal would appear to be to strike a balance between our mobility and our ability to contribute to various kinds of fights. The pattern of their adjustments would seem to suggest they’re more than happy for Thief to be the most mobile class in the game and that this privilege should come at the expense of our ability to participate in sustained combat. I don’t think they’ll express this goal or how to best achieve it in a direct conversation with us on the forum because as a whole, we’ve generally been too caustic and presumptuous to productively have such a conversation.

It’s an issue of skill. What they may lack in ability to balance the classes in GW2 in a way that’s enjoyable for everyone is well overshadowed by what we currently lack in communication and problem-solving. For this to function more smoothly, something needs to change and that something starts with us.

I feel as though thief’s mobility is often massively overplayed. Sure, they’re the most mobile class, but it’s not exactly like they’re so much faster that it’d justify their combat shortcomings as they stand right now.

That depends a lot on what class you’re comparing us to. If it’s Scrapper, Druid, and Herald, I agree that mobility isn’t as justified, particularly on a small map like Kylo where Phase Traversal covers half the distance between nodes. Prior to the expansion, the mobility was essentially always justified and now that it might not be, it’ll be especially interesting to see what Thief/Rev players like Toker do in the future. Maybe he’ll switch to Thief on a map like Temple, particularly if sustain gets toned down, or maybe they’ll stick with the same comp they used last Sunday.

I would really love to see an internal concept of what they are trying to do with each class. They used to have something like a “class vision” when the game released (in the descriptions of each class), but those are so far removed from the current game that they can’t really be considered valid anymore.

That’d be awesome. Well, any kind of communication between player and dev would be awesome, but that’d be especially great if they provided a guideline like class vision and it was one we mostly agreed with.
