It’s just the background for the story of your character, although I don’t think that particular option matters at all for anything besides selecting your mask/hood. Just go with the one with the hood and keep it in your bank NO MATTER WHAT. There’s a severe lack of hoods in this game and you’ll regret not being able to transmute it at a higher level if you ever want to wear a hood.
no, I’m just wondering if going a certain type of thief would change any of my skills or if its just for the looks? If it does change my skills…..I’m wondering what each other the backgrounds are mainly aimed at.
Just make any race you want. The only thing that affects your choices are animations, personal stories, and cultural armor (and a few skills, but those are generaly weaker than your class skills).
