This is ranked, and so far (On Sapphire atm) my Daredevil hasn’t been getting flamed on like a lot of people are saying… Is this just a thing that always happens on the forum? As a player since launch I’ve been playing thief mainly, and people have actually wanted to party up with me because they thought I did well. I’m just using the Metabattle Daredevil D/P and no professions seem to be that much of a hassle to kill besides random DH traps, but even those are possible to 1v1, and I know I’m not the only one? Wtf is going on with the people flaming on the forums?

Happy you haven’t been flamed, you’ll notice it more the higher you climb up Leagues, people tend to be more try hard. If you not meta you a “hindrance”

Tbh I haven’t been flamed neither, ranked or unranked, though I did on my warrior a few times qq.

Ive only been flamed a couple times, one of them was in a match where we were facing a bunker comp, and I had 1v1’d their bunker ele on mid and nearly killed them, but they chased me down 2v1.

It was funny when they said we lost because we have a thief when I 1v1d every player on their team.

Depends on the people you get.

Some see thief and complain.
Some see thief and complain and throw or don’t contribute.
Some blame the thief for others in the team giving up early because there is a thief.
Some target you for blame if you speak up against the missplays like zerging close vs 1 or point out what the team needs to do to have a chance.
Some don’t care.
Some play a truly ineffective "carry-me" build and blame the thief start to finish.
Some blame the thief when the issue is the comp i.e. 2 DH vs a lot of on sustain and point pressure.
Some start to perform your role instead of you so you can’t get stealth decaps and have a weaker team fight.
Some compliment you during the match by saying only they and you have a clue, and the other 3 are bads.
Some compliment you after the match.
Some block you and rage-whisper you after the match.
Some want to party with you after the match.
Some go onto the forums after the match to complain about thieves.
Some go onto the forums after the match to complain about people complaining about thieves.
Some thieves go onto the forums after the match to complain about their class.
Some thieves go onto the forums after the match to subtly suggest other complaining thieves are just doing something wrong because they themselves are getting praised.
Some go onto the forums to ask a question to which the answer is obvious.
Some go onto the forums for a laugh.

I don’t play ranked — too much hassle — but I’ve played unranked several times and there are times with one other Thief…no flames and we even won.

I think you only get flamed if you choose a Thief and you don’t know how to play the profession.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. I’ve had matches where we lost an I got blamed, and matches where someone said “you know thief is the weakest class right now” before we’d even started playing. Just gotta ignore it.

A Thief is weak I agree, but more than one, so far not so weak. Thieves are like the Skritts, the more they are the better they perform. One Thief’s damage is easy to mitigate, but if it’s coming from more than one Thief, the target is often overwhelmed rather quickly — in my experience at least. And it can have a negative psychological impact on the target if they go down every time from the same Thieves.

Except that Skritts don’t compete for the same role. One thief can +1 and decap, but it’s so specific that you can’t do that with more than one.

Except that Skritts don’t compete for the same role. One thief can +1 and decap, but it’s so specific that you can’t do that with more than one.

When I played with a fellow Thief, we just gank whoever and it all worked out. As long as we’re attacking the same target, they go down fast. Also, with two of us, one can decap while the other +1, it was beautiful how it all worked out. But of course, I’m not saying that this is always the case since I also had a bad experience with a Thief who knows nothing of what they’re supposed to be doing. Whenever I find an equally or better skilled Thief in my team, I’m actually having fun playing PvP.
