… for underwater usage only. What do you guys like to use? It does not have to be restricted to thief only skills, list racial elite skills if you prefer them instead.

(I’m being totally serious here)

I don’t usually use my elite skill underwater, since spear skills usually give me enough survival, and the elite choices for underwater combat are seriously limited.

But if I have to pick, I use Basilisk Venom.

Pretty sure that Basilisk venom is the only thief elite usable underwater. Also, none of the racial elites can be used underwater.

you get only 1 elite in underwater, and that one is a JOKE unless you are vennom build spec, also the utilities available suck bad for my build….

who is trolling who in this case ?

Like we have a choice…

Izzy told me during a AMA that there were plans to make Thieves Guild usable underwater (and he told me during second beta times if I remember correctly). I’m still waiting for that one to be usable underwater (a lot of NPCs can fight on solid ground AND underwater, just give them a Spear and Harpoongun).

In fact I hope some day every single skill will be usable underwater, or have a different version usable underwater (like the Tornado from Eles, or the Moa Morph into Tuna Morph). There are many AoEs that are transformed into spheres underwater, but it doesn’t apply to all AoEs like our Shadow Refuge.

In fact BV isn’t even featured in many Venom builds (Thieves Guild are much better for sharing, and even if you’re not sharing, usually Devourer is all you need and Thieves are great meat shields, damage adders and distracters).

BV is good for very specific bursty builds (making those burst too good) but for the rest, it doesn’t deserve an elite slot. It’s an skill that causes nerfs on other skills because it makes them too good (hurting other buidls in the process) and is only good in those builds. IMO it shouldn’t have made the cut to the final game because of the situations it creates and the damage it does to the other Thief builds and traits (Venom Sharing builds would be much better if BV wouldn’t exist).

And the worst is that underwater you don’t have the tools to make it useful… but it’s your only underwater skill U.U
