So, I’m level 80 and finished exploring the whole world. Now it’s time to plan everything out and turn my equipment from “whatever gold/exotic that I found” to something that fits my grand plan.

…except I don’t have a grand plan yet. I’ve spent a lot of time trying to figure out what would be the “best” build for Explorable Dungeons and general PvE and I just don’t know.
For every argument I have in one direction I can have a counter argument in another :/

What do you guy think Thieves should build end game?

Just to give some perspective: My current build is Dagger/Pistol and Pistol/Pistol with 0/30/20/20/0 traits. (I do change up my weapons quite a lot)
Since my equipment is a random assortment of whatever I have about 750 in Power and Precision, 300 in toughness, 450 in vitality, 250 condition damage (this is including trait bonuses).

I’m one of the most survivable characters in my group of friends when we do story dungeons. I always spend the least on repairs. I take Thieves Guild always. On PvE I take Singet of Shadows and Ambush, on Dungeons I swap out SoS for Shadow Refuge.
I like my 20 points in Shadow Arts for increased stealth duration and regeneration while in stealth. The 10 point trait in Acrobatics that reduces falling damage is also awesome on PvE for someone like me that always wants to end up in the wierdest place. It would be really hard for me to give up those traits.
I took Deadly Arts because the traits looked nice on paper. +20% damage here, Plus 10% damage there… problem is (and this is a big reason why I can’t decide on my final build) pistols don’t have great damage without improving the bleeds. Going melee in dungeons is suicide versus bosses so I was sticking with Pistols.

I originally wanted to find some Power/Precision/Vitality (or Toughness) gear, but no gear, save for Knights offers a stat combination like that, and Knights major stat is Toughness not power. Then i realized that jewelry combined gives more stats then armor does, and jewelry is MUCH more limited. This was before I realized that going Power/Precision might not be the best course of action for ranged damage.
And I’m also worried that whatever survivability stat I pick might not be enough. What’s the difference if I have 500 toughness if I still die in 1 hit regardless?

… so yeah, I’m the kind of guy that overthinks things WAAAAY too much and enjoys long, smart discussions.
Right now I THINK that I’m going to make Condition Damage / Power / Vitality equipment. I’ll respec traits to open up the possibility of Venom Sharing and take 2 venoms (+ Shadow Refuge / SoS). What do you guys think?

Tyria… the dragons have always been here…

Well I havnt experimented much (mainly cause I like my build so much) but Ive been abusing Signet of Malice to great tanking effect.

Traits 30/0/30/0/10 the main stat I push on armor is healing power to increase the amount of HP gain per hit, my healing power is 954 which heals me 157 every time I hit.

I’m useing Dagger Dagger Pistol Pistol. Dagger Death Blossom returns more hp the more hostiles there are around you, that plus Dagger Storm on me elite works very well for tanking even in level 80 dungeons. If I start taking to much damage I back off and hit them with unload on my pistols which is 1256hp on each use.

For skills I got Signet of Malice – Shadow Refuge – Radiation field or Roll for Initiative – Signet of Shadows or Assassin Signet (depending on what I’m doing) – Dagger Storm.

With the Shadow Rejuvenation trait Shadow Refuge ends up being a full heal if you stand in it for the full timer.

Roll of Initiative is nice for when you swap to Pistols but in most fights I take Radiation field instead but if your not Asura that’s not an option.

Generally I only have the Signets on there for passives so Sig of Shadows for general exploration Assassins for tougher fighting.

Assuming there’s more than one hostile dagger storm will fully heal you while reflecting projectiles and keeping you from getting knocked down.

All in all it ends up being a very durable build for PvE with lots of fast small heals and shadow arts very nice initiative management.

I’m using Dagger/Dagger and Pistol/pistol for dungs and shortbow insted of pistols for pve.

Traits I use are 30/30/0/0/10
Weapons and acessories are exotic with power, percision and crit dmg.

For Armour i currently use berserker exotic but this is not so good against multi target combat, but for bosses works great ( high amount of dmg and with dodge is quite easyto survive.

But since Hourglass build works bad in close multitarget combat I’ll proly buy Knight’s set ( with knights u get 4 stats out of it- 2 dmg and 2 survivability ( I use 5% into vitality ) and it gives rly best stats ever ).

the only problem is that in some dungs bosses always focus only you and with only 3 dodges awaivle u sometimes gotta run away from the fight.

I’m using Dagger/Dagger as my main weapons and Pistol/Pistol for range and may occasionally switch to Shortbow from time to time.

Traits: 15/25/0/5/25
This may seem a bit weird but it’s a really good high crit condition build.
Deadly Arts major: VI, Sundering Strikes – 40% chance to cause vulnerability on critical (1-sec cooldown). This basically just adds to my raw power.
Critical Strikes major: I and VI, I just gives me a higher crit chance when my enemy goes <50% hp so I am then able to finish them off faster. VI converts 5% of my precision into vitality. I do change it around sometimes like for the cripple on crit-hit.
Trickery major: V and VII, who doesn’t like boons? Fury, Might, Swiftness and Vigor.

Armour atm is a mixture of exotic/rare of power, precision, vitality and condition damage. With 5 superior runes of the pirate ( I only wanted the magic find and wasted money when I found I could’ve got other ones…but the might duration is nice).

Heal: Signet of Malice, This with Death Blossom and Dagger Storm
Utilities: Caltrops (The main skill that gets off those bleed stacks), Signet of Shadows/Shadow Refuge (SoS for when running around and SF for dungeons), Signet of Agility (Increased critical chance and nice condition removal).
Elite: Dagger Storm

How to use: Pre-cast caltrops and run into the enemy by then caltrops should drop from there spam 3 Leaping Death Blossom and then auto attacks and spam a 4th LDB. Use steal (I bound F1 to my mouse button), auto attack a bit more and then 5th LDB. The enemy/enemies would then have 15-22 bleed stacks as well as one of them having poison + weakness while you have all these boons. From this point do whatever you want.

I was able to luckily take down 2 veterans at the same time while rolling around moving while watching bleed ticks go off.

Current Stats:
Power – 1534
Precision – 1905
Toughness – 1101
Vitality – 1129

Attack – 2403
Crit Chance – 51%
Armour – 2136
Health – 12935

I still have to get exotic jewlery.

Hope this helps you and others
