humm… have any one heard of any HB nerf? as far as i know in betas it could almost one-shot ppl down and it still can.
Sure there’s hypocrisy in the crying about crying, but I agree with the OP. Too many bad thieves coming here whining about stuff they knew was going to be changed.
Glad they changed sin sig and didn’t nerf backstab. They made the right choice.
Advice to bad thieves:
- Roll another class and learn how powerful the thief is
- Stop running gimmick builds, when they get nerfed you won’t be upset
- Spend more time on the game and less on the forums, you’ll get better at playing it

HB has already been nerfed pre-release. Landing a full HB without Frenzy is nearly impossible to do w/o first immobilizing the target, and even then you’ve got a full 3.5 seconds to react to incoming damage.
Quickness is most likely going to change at some point.

Sure i understand that, i didn’t take it to heart. Im just getting a bit kitten off with the whinging. I come to the forums to get ideas or to learn by others mistakes… i don’t mind the odd “ kitten !!” thread but 5-6-7 threads all on the same thing? and all unfounded tbh!

1) I have other classes, love my engineer and ranger also.
2) So we can’t follow our own builds and be like every other game where we have to sheep follow someone else’s build. I thought GW2 wasn’t that kind of game.
3) This is my first time on the forum because ever since I bought the game, it gave me an error when trying to log in for the forums so I never tried again till last night when the patch hit and was really mad about it. So I didn’t know a nerf was coming.

- Builds that are OP will get nerfed. Deal.
- Wait, you didn’t know a nerf was coming to the most OP and complained-about theif build, yet you’re upset that you used said build and can’t adapt to balance changes? Sounds like bad crying to me.
Considering your post, I don’t think I need to change anything I’ve said.
Bads will be bads and use gimmick builds, then cry when they get balanced.

Some people play specific builds to fit their play style, or that of their group, just because you do not play it, does not make it less valid, or their concerns less important than yours.

What i am saying is that in all my years of MMO experience i have learned to stay away from “fotm one shot builds”.
Am i better than these players?
99% of the time i am, because i have learned to play the class as a whole and use all the tools in my bag not just macroing 3 buffs into one key then hitting “backstab” or “pistolwhip” to chalk up a win.
Would these guys be better than me if they played different specs that had a higher skill threshhold?

Look other forums.On every one,you will find players complaining about Thief’s being OP.Every 1.Now,in my opinion,most of players like that never used “circle strafing”.Never.Most of them are still “clickers”.I’m sure you can tell by the way they move.Bud,I played rogue for 6 years.Thief is far from OP.If anything needs a buff.Try Warrior.And yes,same as you I spend a lot of time trying to figure out how to play this class.
If A.net is to listten ALL others,why not complain here and diffend our class?
Having so many threads about same thing is problem for A.net.Where is their answer about anything? Where is somebody from A.net to say:“Yes,we are looking for this and we will make it work”.Anything? Why not moderate this forum and place ALL similar threads on 1 place? There is only official info after fix or patch.

Yeah, every other forum complaining about thieves is clearly an indication about how every other player sucks and doesn’t know how to play the game, not that thieves may actually be unbalanced in some way.

I have one. Backstab spec screamed NERF INC! from miles away. Be glad that they didn’t just gut its damage by 20% or something equally brutal like they did with Pistol Whip.
Remember back in beta when thieves swore to high heaven that Revealed wasn’t needed and that CnD spam was absolutely fine because it only killed moderately fast (each CnD did the damage of a medium Heartseeker) while you were invisible all the time? Well some people do. The thief community has a very bad track record of judging their own class in terms of balance.
The OP is myopic and the Devs did the right thing. Its not that ppl can’t handle a loss. What they won’t tolerate, and will leave a game over is to be essentially one shot or 2 shot and have no time to react.
It would not surprise me that that more dps nerfs are on the way. Then maybe they can look at the downed state for WVW.
Hey, I pistol whip. It got a nerf, and I understand why it got one and I am ok with that.
Thieves can escape some of the most intense situations, and that is what we’re about. We’re NOT TANKS, so we have to move in and out to take out our enemy(s).
