I’’ve become focused on trying to make a conditions build focused around DD/SB.

So far this is what I’ve come up with, as this build focuses around providing me with more initiative and much needed survivability.

Look good? If you have any criticisms or changes to the build please post. Thanks.

*Sorry, kinda new to the build concept even though i’ve been playing this class since day 1.

Is this build for PvE or PvP? Since you have Roll for Initiative i suspect it’s for PvP.

Concerning skills:
Signet of Malice is a option but i Prefer Hide in Shadows(mind that you don’t have any condition clear).
I would replace Signet of Shadows with Caltrops. They make half of your damage.

Concerning traits:
You don’t need Mug and Dagger Training. You are condition thief, not direct damage thief and you can’t have them both,at least at this state of the game.I would invest those 20 points somewhere else.
In the Trickery trait line, replace Initial Strike with something else: II,V,VII or VIII are good options. The reason is that you musn’t attack with normal attack.Your tactic is apply bleeds+hide rinse and repeat.
In Shadow Arts tree which is imo the best tree there are at least several priceless traits:
III,IV,VI,XI.Invest more here.
You didn’t say anything about runes and sigils.

My current build, with a mix of pow/pre/crit and pow/pre/cond gear when using mainly D/D, but P/D works very well with this setup as well with even more focus on bleeds.
Enough power/crit to nuke things down quickly, while at the same time your bleeds etc will put out good dmg.
Very good survivability and mobility, and works great for both wvw and pve (I dont have enough experience in spvp to say how this build/gear setup stack up against other options).
Regarding pve, and dungeons to be specific, you have to be comfortable in staying in melee range on bosses, and I know many thiefs that dont like that.

Most tend to go all out one way or another. But I really enjoy the diversity of this build/gear setup. If interested I can post complete gear setup and stats.

Oh, so roll is more of a PvP oriented skill this build was mainly for wvwvw/PvE. So Thank you though I’ll keep this in mind for spvp; I’d like to know what’s a good skill to replace roll with and is the overall setup ok , or should I still replace mug, power of inertia and dagger training.

Keep in mind I do pve only (for now) and am only 60 on this character, but this is the build I’ve swapped to, I found it pretty solid thus far:

I don’t know how it’d do in pvp (considering the skills, I’d think bad). Right now the build I’m at is what you see but 8 less in Trickery.
