Trap thief, I’ve never seen this before, except from the lowlifes who uses unf trainer n other hacks and cheats to play. What I’m refering to is simply this, damage from a source that doesn’t show up in my combat log. Every other condi tick damage show up in there, but not the damage from a certain individual playing a trap thief. So I’m just wondering if it’s just from this individual or is it something that all trap thieves do? So far I’ve just run in to one trap thief and I just can’t see how all that damage can not show up in my combat log. If he’s a legit player then by all means it’s ok but in that case I should see the damage from the conditions. So pls sort this out asap.

You’re accusing Trap Thieves of being cheaters?

The Traps add conditions, along side caltrops which do NOT deal physical damage or Trap specific damage.

Your damage log will show the conditions only because you’ve taken no other damage from any other sources.

If he’s playing Ghost Thief, which It sounds like it from what you’ve typed, the only damage that will show on your logs are conditions, because that’s all there is to it.

Then I’m afraid that the individual I’ve been facing is a cheater, his damage didn’t show up in my combat log, no bleed ticks, nor poison ticks or any other condi damage at all.

Verify if your combat log has that type of damage selected, you won’t see it otherwise.

I have it set to show everything, heals, direct damage and condition damage. Incoming damage and damage dealt.

I would have to check, but there are often sources of damage that do not show in combat logs. Not sure if that means I haven’t toggled some sources in there though..

I’ll join a private server with you and test it if you like!

It is more than likely you just did not have the combat tab adjusted to see those types of conditions or conditions in general… Sounds like a bag of salt exploded all over the kitchen floor to me..

So watch the vid, every time i lay a trap down and or caltrops, since i am invisible the guardian would only see the ticks, it will not show – Bronze legend did blah blah blah- that’s how it works. If anything the combat log is what is broken.

So, we ran a little test. Any damage done while in stealth will not show up in the combat log. So you can die to mystery damage from stealthed people.

My guess would be it’s how they prevent you from getting revealed. But you should always be able to see what is hitting you tbh..

No thief or player that I know of are stealing information from, causing damage/harm to, or gaining unauthorized access to ANet using that build (trapper).

They’re legit skills and runes in the game, that function as they’re intended, so it’s not cheating either.

Maybe, at most, a bug in the combat log not having the damage show up.

When I watched that video all I could think was why didn’t you put a blinding powder on the down body. I guess 12th time is the charm lol.

I get mystery damage not showing in the logs all the time from various sources. GW2 has the worst combat log of all the MMOs I have played.
