Falling damage trait moved
Id love to know the reasoning for this change as it makes no sense to me at all. They have just removed a highly used mechanic from the build making it less fun.
Me too as CiS was rendered basically useless and still is a grandmaster trait.
ETA: Actually aanet need someone who really plays thief and makes builds for each weaponset to see if any builds come short. I really have no idea how to make a proper power D/D build.
To explain why CiS is in my opinion rendered useless: I’ve got a 25% damage reduction as a minor and it’s mostly not criticals that really hurt me when in stealth, it’s conditions and SE was nerfed quite a bit as well – so I basically need trickster to remove the conditions SE won’t. SA needs an overhaul, still. It’s fine for /P and they’ve got an unblockable, undodgable blind on their set, whereas you have to feel OP if you use CiS because someone at anet decided that for thief that very trait is completely overpowered – the trait, not the skills which use blind quite a lot. I’ll also miss the falling damage trait – a nifty thing to escape situations.
And in the end, if you use SA it’s because of SE, would be stupid not to take that trait, so any other trait in that line is obsolete – there’s only one weirdo I know who uses LR.

Alright – I ‘know’ only 2 weirdos using that trait. It probably works with the condi removal DrD has, yes.
I actually don’t use it, was just teasing.
I’ve been on vacation and away from the game so I’m just catching up on the patch, expansion, etc.

I do not take SE in my s/d build. I remove all the conditions i want via PR and infiltrators and use HIS on a lower cooldown to setup another stealth for boon theft . Keeping boons stripped means a 20 percent bonus to larcenous and gives me a whole pile of boons.
This build is in fact CORE now . (Sa/acro/Tr)
I can not envision where I would use CIS now.

Yeah I suppose I can see building one with protection and Iron sights, heavier armor and maybe the CIS trait. I am just trying to figure out how often I am caught in stealth via crit strikes and downed.
I guess if you in that line and are rezzing someone it can really help as with the Shadows resilience and no crits you can stay in there longer. It also might help if low on heath and you stealth as an enemy wails away with cleave. I will certainly try it but not sure why I would trait over RS or Shadows rejuv.
For the build i use (http://tinyurl.com/lpl72zh) I loved the falling damage trait with blind and stealth. I’d be jumping off everything to stealth and use it to my advantage. I really had incorporated it in to my play style. I played for a bit last night and felt like i had a hand cut off. It really is a sad day for the build i use.
