My main is a lvl80 rev and i got a little bored so I’m switching back to my thief for a while but I really can’t stand the mid lvl content after enjoying the max lvl stuff. My toon is currently lvl40 with lvl150 in artificing and leatherwork. I have 4 tomes of knowledge so I guess my question is hearts+storyline the fastest way to level up at the moment?

WVW, even faster now that the reward tracks have level up books in them.

Without tomes or crafting, killing certain mobs in pve is one of the fastest ways to level.
You have to drown yourself in + xp boosts from as many sources as possible (wiki them to find out what you can easily do), and you’ll have to find mobs that haven’t been killed in 2+ hours (a crapshoot really), but once you find an area, you can level every 8 mobs or so. I have 18 characters and this is the method I most often use.

WvW/EotM are fairly decent now too considering the recent changes and added reward tracks. They probably have a tome acquisition rate somewhat similar to PvP, though they no longer give xp out in the world.

do your personal story it reward most exp in the game even if it boring as hell ~ xD

Just finished the lvl40 personal story, should I do wvw on my lvl80 then transfer times over or just wvw on my thief?

you should do it on your thief becuase daily reward are soul bound you use them to buy skill point for you thief so you dont have to waste time in pve save them up till your 80 then buy a bunch of them to unlock daredevil fast : ).

I’ve recently leveled a new thief to 80 to join friends on another server. I was really surprised at the speed at which you can level. It took me only a few hours over two evenings to get to 80.

I used a mix of things. But just do what you enjoy!

Use a birthday scroll to 20/30. Then get a good short bow, pop in a bloodlust/swiftness sigil and do the lower zones. Packs of mobs would get me 30-50% of a level. Running through a zone just keeps popping up your xp as well.

Then also remember that if you need a craft (or have gold to spare) that you get very good xp from that as well. Some cheap and fast methods on gw2crafts.net! I did this from 60-80 and probably used a few level scrolls too many before that.

Those Proofs of Heroics were made an account-bound currency a few weeks ago

So, if you want to do it through WvW, you can do it on your Thief… Best stick to Edge of the Mists in that case because in EB and borders, an upscaled Thief is just dead on sight.

It can be quite hard in wvw, but it is really good practice. Since if you do not move around them aoe’s or shadowstep/blinding power on a thief/mesmer popping on you then it is indeed poof. I enjoyed playing this way, porting behind the enemy blob we faced and avoiding small corners/alleys.
