What bothers me about the whole, “Do more damage by living longer” theory is that you’re sort of watering down your role, it would seem. I suppose that’s what Jumper was getting at with the Tryndamere reference, I dunno. If you’re playing in a role where you’re supposed to be pressuring/downing people, it’s not really your job to also try to be “tanky”.
You’re stealing from your primary role to attempt to fulfill another…which might also be what he meant with the “5v5, not 1v5” reference…your job is to fulfill a certain role on the team, not be a jack-of-all-trades sort that might perform well overall on your own, but doesn’t do what the team needs. If you’re the starting quarterback, people expect you to train for that role, not spend half your time bulking up so you can be a decent linebacker as well. (I really know nothing about football, someone will pick my analogy apart, I’m sure.)
That said, I haven’t tried the build at all. I’m really just commenting on the logic behind your comments and those of Jumper.
The issue is that tanking and pressuring/downing people do not at all have to be different goals. In fact, if anything, the two tend to coincide more often than not.
I think that this build has more potential than Jumper’s, in the same way that the planet Jupiter has more potential than Terra because it weighs more.

Who are you, anyways, Oxygen? I’ve never heard of you, and judging by the fact that you seem to be some kind of WvW hero on the zergiest server in the game, I’m not sure that anything you say actually has some kind of relevance to reality.
Furthermore, you’re making false analogies to try and display some kind of point, and, by the looks of it, to boost your own sad little ego.

From what I’ve heard, JQ is the zergiest with the other two being almost as/equally zergy.
But maybe times have changed since I played WvW.
Why are you tossing that around as an insult to a guy who is a guild leader on the 3rd ranked server. They are not just “zergy” they are also coordinated and generally good sports (having recently lost to them on TC – which I guess is also a “zergy” server). The guy came on here with a silly little joke, which I thought was well placed and funny, to try to lighten the mood.
Rather than just laugh it off, you go on the attack again. See the difference? Guild leader vs kicked off a pvp team…it’s becoming obvious that it probably has to do with the fact that you can’t take a bit of constructive criticism or even a joke.

The level of pompous, gratuitous and foundationless self-glorification displayed by Arganthium here is off the charts. Why this thread is given any attention at all is beyond me, though calling out a better, actually known, player may be quite the original way of finding a brief spotlight.

Hence my planet analogy. Do you get what I’m saying here? You ignore so many variables that no amount of spinning numbers in your favour will make up for this build’s deficiencies. There’s no point in arguing the details of a generally flawed premise. At best, people will ignore you. At worse, you’re misleading newer players. The latter is unacceptable.

People have abrupt reactions about you because you come off as a rude and arrogant “I know it all” kind of guy. You throw insults left and right even to people who generally agree with you but aren’t quite convinced.
I don’t like your build because of the reasons already mentioned by other people here. Kudos to you for doing the research and putting your time and effort into it, but if people don’t like it don’t be all like: “Well, I guess you don’t even have a science degree since you don’t agree with me” or “Well, I guess you were bad in maths because you aren’t really interested in my theoretical conclusions”. People don’t like your sand castle that you’ve been building with your own hands for months and months? That’s what life is – deal with it.
