On my thief I specced for the 100% crit out of stealth and so I backstab a lot. Now when I fight things like air elementals or oozes I can’t even FIND their back. Just wondering if anyone has seen something on creatures like that, that will point out which way they are facing.

Wait for their movements and determine where the back is, that’s what I have done with oozes at least so far
I understand your pain for finding the back however, it’s annoying! :p

Stab them wherever you see fit , its going to hurt a kittenload regardless!

Pretty much what I do. Nothing wrong with facestabbing if you don’t see it. Just keep moving to the side or opposite way you CnD them, or wait till they walk away when stealthed. If they’re fighting someone else they’ll turn towards them once you stealth.

Oh! , we have a new local troll, welcome to the thief forums. You can find kitten pomade on the left shelf, and thief strawmans on the closet for your ventings, insults, disdain, and overall feelings of superiority.

Rearding the topic, mobs usually face you all time when fightin them, so, just before stealthing, take note of their facing and use it as a reference for the backstab. If you are going to start from stealth, wait until they move to make sure wich side is their front. (Most mobs only move forward)

Anyways, backstab has a certain degree of tolerance with the angle. You don’t have to be exactly at 180º form their front to kick it in.

Just FYI, the side also counts as your “back”.
