Based on the many balance decisions of Arenanet towards the thief class that have been questionable, people believe that anet devs do not play the class which would lead to misinformed balance decisions. The “finding of a unicorn” is meant to portray the fact that it’s already hard to find developers in game, but playing the one class everyone has claimed they do not is practically unheard of. Just like finding a real life unicorn.

It’s the eventual solution. With all the thief nerfs lately there has been an increase in people using them as bank mules, which means they have a use. That obviously cannot happen.
I’m only here because sometimes I just like to watch things burn.
