Getting hit while in stealth?
Im on fire in Ring of Fire
Been like it since day 1. Harsh words but all I can say is Learn to deal with it tbh because there will be no change
gw1 – healing signet/frenzy/charge
Could someone explain stealth mechanics to me, since i keep on getting hit while in stealth?
Countless times i have died or my gap is closed by taking a hit even though i’m stealthed.
If i need to get away, i use blinding powder and try to shadowstep away with short bow.
But i still keep getting hit or someone uses gapcloser skill and it hits me regardless of my stealth, or that blindess.
Is it broken, or is there a counter to see stealthed players?
trips invisible person as they sneak past me
invisible doesn’t mean intangible.
channel attacks (like range long bow, or warrior rifle that fire a series of shots) track you until their skill is done.
while most is just random spam and guessing where you are.
spams flamethrower all over
plus engineer has several abilities to remove stealth from an area, and if it hits an invisible enemy, provided they took the trait, they can “lock on”. hence flamethrower being so fun
when we see you stealth, we guess where you’d run to. and spam skills. if the skills show dmg(in the dmg chat panel, not floating on the screen) or progress to the next “combo skill”(melee main attacks) then we know we’ve hit something and continue to follow hoping to hit it more.
so my advice, when you stealth. go the opposite direction you plan to flee. as the enemy expect you to flee. and be prepared to chain stealths to get distance.
also evading while in stealth helps to throw off the chain abilities of rifle and longbow.

Thank you, that clarifies it

No.
If the skill is started while the thief is still visible then the attack will track him into stealth.

This. And thats with all channeled targeted skills. Unless you move behind the target, then it’ll stop… again unless it’s the Berserker fire sword thing.

I think channel attacks don’t track if the user is using action camera. I haven’t tested it out, but a few people in the ranger community have complained about it before.

Correct.
However, AC has benefits to stealth as well; you can begin casting RF and hit and manually follow a stealthed enemy, rather than just having no arrows spawn due to not having a target (most single-target channeled skills will not generate the attacks at all without a target).
So AC is better if the target is already invisible and you know where the foe is, but worse if you start the channel and the foe stealths in the middle of it.

It does not track if Action Camera and Auto Target is turned on which is most of the time when Action Camera is used.
