All is vain.
I used to play an SF solo cap ele in guild wars 1 and it was really fun. Could cap any shrine by myself, even including dual monk shrines with meteor shower, firestorm, and searing flames.
In the early stages of Guild wars 2, ele was considered super squishy and in general bad for PvP. Then the D/D spec started to surface and that was basically the king of roaming builds. I remember that I had no chance in hell to take down a roaming D/D ele during their golden age.
Well….ele continues to take nerf after nerf…after nerf, so they’re pretty much not viable anymore for roaming which is kinda weird since my ele was perfectly viable for roaming and solo capping in the first game.
So pretty happy with where the thief is at atm even though we have also taken a lot of nerfs. The warrior basically replaced D/D in roaming. They got the sustain, tankiness, and mobility. They even do more damage too.
In the future we may see a meta shift towards warrior for the go-to roaming class since they get buffed every patch it seems though. They’re arguably already better than thief at roaming as is. Any more buffs will make them the best class for everything.
