Whether you claim it or not….. You are good. Well done. There will always be class balancing issues, but I think Prof Sens could put a video out of every class that he/she took the time to learn and you could argue the class should be nerfed. In turn I could put a video out of my lackluster play and claim the theif needs a boost.

Actually it was recorded using Razer Gamebooster and edited in Windows Movie Maker. I’m not very good at these things and for some reason it re-sized the original video making the quality really bad.

Really? To me I think this video just proved how good OP is, I liked how well he/she picked her/his targets. Don’t forget though, culling does impact the fight a lot, but there’s nothing we can do about it.

I’m sure it’s because thieves are just the most skilled gamers on the planet and people playing engis/guards/wars/rangers/necros are completely terrible in all facets of the game that we only see these constant “1vGroups look at how awesome I am” videos from pretty much 3 classes only….

LOL. The people he was fighting were terrible. Thief game play is so predictable. Maddies are just baddies.

1) Not one person out of that group panned at the start. He was basically out of stealth until he was 5 feet from them.

2) Every person tried to resurrect their team mates after the thief used CnD…he is obviously dunking them. Not one single auto attack, AOE, push back/pull/knockdown/interrupt on top of the downed player.

3) There was ANOTHER Thief there that never once used refuge to save his team mates from a dunk.

These players were just terrible, end of story.

I don’t understand why people are getting so uptight about this. I just wanted to post a video of an exciting fight I had in WvWvW. The videos original purpose was for me to show my friend what PvP in this game looked like so I could persuade him to use the account he bought.

Only because it’s yet another thief, d/d ele or mesmer video showcasing their inherent ability to 1vGroup and win. It’s just a backlash and I’ll admit that and apologize if it seemed like I was bashing you specifically when really I was venting about a much broader issue. Yes, you played well I’ll admit that too so kudos.

Just remember to tell your friend the secret is in rolling the correct class when he plays if this is going to be his vision of pvp because if he chooses wrong he will be sorely disappointed.

Just once it’d be nice to see one of these vids showcasing a ranger going 1v5 and spiking them all. Or a warrior. Hell an engi or necro. But it won’t happen unless some sweeping class redesign happens. At this point though all these videos from the same 3 classes show is how many people just didn’t pick the right class to suffer through the grind to 80 and exotics for wuvwuv.

if u some how imagine doing 9k dmg on a bs while ur opponent cant see u is balanced then i totally understand why u play thief. there is no such thing as balanced when it comes to ANY class that can stealth multiple times, health while stealth, and dish out more than 8k in 1 hit.

so is NO comparison to the thief class its broken since beta. it doesnt matter if u cant take alot of dmg the point is being in stealth u can avoid most of the dmg with 4-5 ways of going into stealth for more than 4 sec especially with the culling.

anyone who plays a thief and imagines its a balanced class is just a moron

i have a thief and its easy to get that dmg and 5-7k from just the number 1 skill is stupid. i still play mine when i wanna run around and 2 shot people its old and boring and requires ZERO skill

I guess this thief hater fails to realize that not everyone lands 9k+. Yes the thief is not balanced, most of the classes aren’t but he is using the traits we were given to full advantage and is able to produce some great crit hits thanks to ‘Hidden Killer – 100% crit hit chance in stealth’ and Power and Crit Damage gear.

Like it was mentioned about the players he was facing were just terrible. They failed to understand how a thief works as most are very predictable which meant there was nothing else for them to do but die.

There had to be a lot of confusion going on for them. I don’t know how many times in WvWvW all I have to do is come from behind a zerg to spark some chaos in them. There was only one person in that video that was below level 80 but that green up arrow is usually a big target for me. A lot of the time I will pick someone leveling out of the zerg in order to try and get their buddies to res them for an easy back stab. It is kinda sad though that they all kept trying to res and even one tried to just leave and do the JP.

Give me multiple targets for CnD, and I’d player better than any other thief in that group, or zerg because they lack the extra targets to CnD, that I have, and have to wait for me to unstealth to attack.

I … don’t see how this disproves his point. Even if we hypothetically assume OP is a very skilled player, that doesn’t change the fact that he works on a baseline that is vastly skewed, i.e. an imbalanced class. For the purpose of this argument this means that other thief simply didn’t utilize those skewed assets as much.
By your logic two guys coming to a fist fight with guns aren’t imbalanced just because one wasn’t able to aim properly.

Thieves with multiple targets for CnD are going to look like they’re better than a Thief who doesn’t have non-stealth targets for CnD.

Cool video, OP. Good song choice and fun to watch. I also appreciate the way you didn’t edit out the mistake at the end that lead to your death. People don’t realize the razor’s edge you have to walk as a glass cannon, and I think leaving the death in helped illustrate that pretty well.

Also, to the “thief is OP” people, I’d say that this is more of a “PVE players in PVP doing the jumping puzzle” issue in my opinion. Either way, fun video.

That group made too many mistakes to not deserve to die. I didn’t see any AoE, or Crown Control. And one guy was backing up, not running, but backing up. You never do that. This just looks like inexperienced PvPers. I’m a P/D Condition thief and I manage better against glass cannon builds like this.

I don’t think I have ever seen anyone react so slowly or have no clue on how to pvp. The guardian tossing up his SYbutt right at the beginning is kind of a clue. LOL
