Currently my thief is 25,30,0,0,15, but I seem to rarely bump into thiefs running the same builds.

What are good wvw builds and what kinda gear should I be wearing, pure zerker? Or do I want some tough and vit.

If you are guaranteed to be running in a small group, you should look into builds that use Venomous Aura and Leeching Venoms.

interceptor is right. if ur going small group that is the best way to go. venomsbuild with short bow. try not to run condi/tanky tho. need those clusters to do some nice dmg and trick shots too.

all that said…dont expect to play your role in the party better than another class is going to. if u wanna help your team…reroll. if u wanna have fun … play thief its why most of us are still here.

Traits depend on your weaponset and gear, and what you’re trying to accomplish.

A 0/30/30/0/10 build is fine if you just want to be a pain in the kitten while you are roaming around. You have damage, you have lots of stealth, and a little bit of Fury/init help from Trickery. That setup works well with D/P. Not much of a small group spec, though.

Full venom share, you would go 30/x/30/x/x and focus on your survivability. Assuming your small group is good to stay close together or your venoms are being wasted. In larger scale same deal, it comes down to group comp and coordination to work together because venom share has several vulnerabilities such as weaker condi clear, evasion (compared to normal thief builds), and lack of stability. These things need to be in your party, or you will get separated and whither.

If you rather go part venom share and focus on singling targets out, you can try other methods. I’ve found playing thief you can’t dip only 1 foot into a build, you have to dive in with both feet or it’s just not effective enough to be worth the party spot. SOME venoms bring nice utility to the table (like DV BV and Spider) that don’t require such a large investment to do their thing but keep in mind you’ll be playing closely to your allies. If you wana go venom share it isn’t just your skills going out there its your allies, so it adds a bit more multi tasking to take the full advantage of it.

Venomshare is a good small group spec, as I already mentioned.

Everything else has “sort of” support, like going deep Trickery for giving out Fury/Might/Swiftness/Vigor. Thief is mostly offensive when it comes to group synergy, as opposed to defensive like a Guardian.

Other builds will “work” in small groups, but you usually aren’t contributing anything other than your damage.

I use 20/30/0/20/0 for more evades and high damage, I play anti-squishy in my group.

Give preference to kill other thiefs, necros, eles and remove boons … backstab 8 ~ 13k

Build too fast with signet infiltrator, I kill in a few seconds for my group attack the downed.

I see this regen on stealth, stealth cleanse build is popular, how does that go again?
