I just finished testing FS in PvE on a mob and was able to use it with 100% accuracy, including when I spammed it 3+ times. If somebody else can test it and confirm whether or not Anet have fixed it I would really appreciate it.

It’s not in the latest patch notes, but maybe it was a hidden update? I’m not sure why it would be hidden though.

Never really had problems hitting with FS in PvE as most mobs are stationary. PvP’s where it’s generally considered broken, since most PvPers move, so I’d test it there.

as far as i know it hasn’t been updated in any recent patches.

its always worked well in PvE, where the opponents more or less stand still. the broken issues with the skill are related to uneven terrain (which is an issue in both PvE and PvP) and moving targets (mostly a PvP issue).

Thanks for the replies, I was unaware of the terrain and movement being a problem. When tbe game first launched I would miss over and over again evwn in PvE, so I thoughtit may have been fixed. I’ll test it in PvP instead and see what happens.

Thanks.

I’ve yet to see FS hit anyone in PvP that wasn’t AFK, stunned or in a downed state. If they just accidentally tap any of their movement keys in any direction, it misses.

Edit:

Or if you’re in the middle of a zerg. Odds are you’re gonna hit SOMEONE.

I do not think so. In PvE, Flanking Strike is working perfectly on even and flat terrain. The skill’s animation makes a perfect circle from the front to the back of the target.

Hill or mountain slopes is another story. On slopes with very small angles and a static mob, Flanking Strike usually makes a bending line and sends me to the far right of my current spot. Good news is the 2nd strike seem to be delayed in these situation so that I can run into the target and land the strike on it. Bad news is sometimes FS sends you too far from the mob and/or the mob starts chasing you in the opposite direction, you probably miss the target.
