Headshot, Why?
It doesn’t seem to me that way.
What you are seeing is the aftercast from the previous skill.

No, mine really has a delay of at least 1sec before it fires off (and I use Leatrix and my latency within the game is always low).
Couple other thieves I have spoken too notice the same thing.
This can be tested easily.
1) Put Headshot into auto-attack mode
2) Target a dummy (no, no, not you)
3) Record the time

its a LIL slower than the .25 but not 1 sec in total. ur looking at .5 seconds in totality for the pre and after cast. .25 secs after you hit the skill it fires and .25secs again u can reclick it. you get 2 shots per second or 2 shots per .9 from what im testing.

I’m curious as to why shooting someone in the head does the least amount of damage a thief can possibly do. It is literally their lowest damage weapon skill (tied with black powder)

Headshot doesn’t cancel ,,aftercast" of auto-attack and simply waits till it ends. Aftercast of pistol #1 is long, but also dagger and sword’s 3rd stage of #1 are aswell. That means, Headshot goes into ,,skill queue", and if you are unlucky, it can reach over 1 second of channeling.
Me and some other players have reported it a couple of times months ago (I even wrote a long post), but nobody from devs answered.

Interrupt skills aren’t meant to deal big damage. Also, imagine shooting somebody into a steel helm with an old pistol. That doesn’t do any damage, and just ricochets

There’s a skill like that on every class. The one skill that does the least amount of damage when compared to all other skills. The one for the thief is Headshot, and with good reason.
Do you want everything to do equal amounts of damage? That would be senseless…
Just because its called “Headshot” doesn’t mean this is Counter-Strike.
so talking on ts just now a guild mate mentioned what if bodyshot (with a slight dmg buff) was switched round with headshot so headshot becomes number 2 skill was buffed to do dmg based on health like heartseeker lower the mob/players hp the bigger burst with daze being added once targets hp reaches a certain % (25% maybe) to stop if being spammed.
bodyshot should then be update to inc a 1-2 sec burning or even a knockback on the skill with unload getting (something like ΒΌ s burning per unload shot)

Unfortunatly I am unable to display the games latency within the game, there is no command or option.
When I use Headshot, it is at least 1second before the enemy player is dazed.
- Weapon is pulled out (this is where I notice the delay on the ability)
- Weapon is fired (yes there is bullet travel time, that does add some delay)
My connection is wonderful on the servers. Yes maybe it is the skill/wvw lag, but I only experience lag within WvW when 50+ players are fighting another 50+ players when taking/defending the keep in EB.
The rest of my skills operate fine, but Headshot (which I have always notice) has a (at least) one second delay, it’s no where near instant like it really should be.
Yes, you are correct about it interrupting my own abilities to fire off, that is the only time I notice Headshot react instantly within the game. Outside of that it doesn’t.

Yeah I understand black powder is low, but head shot is less than body shot, and it just makes extremely little sense. Yes I get it’s an interrupt but pistol whip serves that just as well (in fact the only real use for it)
Maybe it should do more damage on an interrupt, non interrupting headshots are then “grazes” while an interrupt is actually effective.
