Heart Seeker.
Definitely the Leap Finisher. I started a Thief after all of the talk of Heartseeker spamming, and vowed to not do that. So I mainly use it for the Leap Finisher/gap closer aspect of it, especially when combined with Smoke Screen for stealth or Throw Gunk for chaos armor (or any other convenient combo field, really).
I value it as the only way for me to stick on someone.
Leap Finisher. Sadly there are still people who spam it (terrible waste of initiative) and give it a bad name. I find Shadow Shot a nicer gap closer, unless you go D/D I guess, so I’d rather use that.
Gap closer, and finisher, it is great for that . If no other enemies are around, I also like to spam it on a mesmer when down to try and kill them off, because lord knows you won’t land the stake through their heart with their seemingly infinite teleports.
Used strategically, it can be very powerful indeed. The spammers can give it a bad name though, and spamming it is just a bad idea for so many reasons.
On the other hand, it is always good to spam it on a mesmer and or guardan…jk

Mesmers will teleport once when down, then the skill will be on CD. There will now be two mesmers, you kill the second one that popped, this one will also have a skull arrow above them.
^ What he said. I spam heartseeker when they are below 50%, because it melts face. Outside of that I tend to auto attack/go for backstabs and dancing daggers depending on the situation.
I spam it against bad targets to make them rage about it in the forums. Anyone else do that? It’s on purpose to just spam it 4x on a 20% health player who is already being killed by 5 others just so they remember the Heartseeker and come here to complain.
Thing I hate is when you have a target low but you haven’t actually targetted them, you’re just in melee range, so when you heart seeker you just shoot past them. Always feel so stupid after that :P
heartseeker does good damage when they are below 50% health and near backstab quality at 25% and lower, I will abuse that skill but I must admit I spam dancing daggers much more than heartseeker. Something about watching a ranger or necro or mesmer drop from 4 dancing daggers because they stood too close to their pets, I dropped a ranger to 1% with 4 dancing daggers as he tried to rez his mesmer partner I backstabbed for 16k. Then I killed him too. I love shadows refuge, so dirty.
