So it is common knowledge that if as a thief you use Heartseeker then you are a noob. I say to hell with all of that use what build and abilities you want to use and if in the end your the one alive and your enemy is looking up at you from the flat of his back then what does it matter. Heartseeker is awesome when combined with Trait I (Furious Retaliation) and Trait XI (Executioner) in Critical Strikes.

Heartseeker – Leap + More damage the lower hp your target has.
Furious Retaliation – Target reaches 50% hp thief gains fury for 10 seconds.
Executioner – Target is below 50% hp thief deals 20% more damage.

So for all the backstabby crit thieves Heartseeker is an awesome tool once the target is at or below 50% hp. Don’t be afraid to use it to finish off your target as they try to flee once they get low hp. Heartseeker is also needed for the stealth field combo after using black-powder with the pistol off hand.

AA is auto attack

I think people complaining about heartseeker are the ones that just see HS HS HS HS HS. I often use it as a gap closer, so a fight might be stealth, backstab, AA AA AA, HS to close the distance, Backstab, AA AA AA, HS HS HS.

Actually I thinking people complaining about someone only using HS against them are bad (hi OP). I loooooove facing thieves who only heart seeker. It is easy to kill them.

I had a thief open a duel against my warrior with 4 consecutive HS. He dropped in about 5 seconds.

I re-matched him thinking it was a joke. He opened with 4 HS again.

What a waste of 10 seconds of my life.

that was me :/ i admit lol

everyone said HS was OP so i decided to spam it. i didnt even equip an offhand weapon. just dagger/fist was good enough.

Dying to a Heartseeker spam and then called him noob is even worse.

I HS when people are low or just committed to running from me, out of autoattack range, and I want to kill them. I also find myself using it after I bask venom cnd mug bs people if theyre low, since they cant dodge it and it will do more damage than double strike.

people need to stop complaining about thief spam, it’s part of our class. just need to L2P.

Well thing is… HS spam will get you killed in outnumbered situations. In group pvp where you have other ppl covering your out of initiative kitten and spamming ress 24/7 its ok to spam it once target is <50% becouse…well, it works, if you actually have high crit chance out of stealth. But in outnumbered situations where u see one or 2 thieves killing mulltipple clueless enemies at a time, HS spam will get you killed, since its all about initiative management then and going in and out from stealth to keep kittens as confused as possible.
