OK , I’m seeing thieves hit my alts for 3k+with heartseeker, but only getting 600 dmg from it on my lv80 thief. That’s a BIG difference!
Q . How much is down to traits and how much to gear?

CBA to Pve for random gear . waiting 3 hours for a group just don’t appeal to me.
WvWvW and some PvP are all I play now (with ranger), so improving on mostly rare 80 gear will take time.

Appearently u didnt, becouse there is no way u can hit 600 with heartseeker if u use it right. or you are that thief that starts the fight with heartseeker ? And i’ve seen lots of them. Or maybe consider upgrading your Fine gear to at least rare ?

Yea, forgot about that QQ patch.

Sounds like you need crit damage armor/accesories. In any case, tales of heartseeker have been greatly overexaggerated.
