Hello chaps! I am currently playing a thief in wvw and i roam around with my guildys using sword/pistol and also a with short bow, I don’t solo roam yet as, well, i Just get rofl stomped in 1v1’s :p but time will make a better player, anyway – I have a build I made which i think is pretty balanced but apart from that i feel that the over all damage is a bit low, even with food and stone i get just over 3100 attack. Can any 1 tweek this build for me (armour/trinks) please to give me the best possible stats i can get. (no ascended armour :p ) this is what i currently run atm

“Attack” is sort of a meaningless statistic. It’s not used in any damage calculations. You want to be concerned with Power, and eventually get yourself some ascended weapons.

Some thoughts on your build:

  • You have perma-swiftness from your trait setup. The 25% speed boost from Traveler’s is redundant, since you get 33% from Thrill and dodges. Much better runes are available for you.
  • Toughness is a little excessive. You have 2558 Armor, which is a lot for a build that relies on evades and blinds.
  • Health level is good.
  • You need more Power in your damage tripod. Some of that Knight/Cav gear should be traded for something with primary Power, like Zerker. I recommend the combo Zerk/Valk trinkets, since they give a little health without sacrificing crit damage or Power (you just lose Precision, which is the weakest damage stat).
  • Opportunist is not really that great anymore. You might want to see if you can drop some points out of CS.
  • You have a Steal build with your deep Trickery and Sleight of Hand, but are not taking advantage of the synergy with 10-15 points in DA for Serpent’s Touch, Mug, and Lotus Poison. Consider taking advantage of that if you can. The added utility is worth the damage loss, usually.

I may have deviated from the original build too much as I was basing most of the decisions off of what I run on my S/P build, so the two ended up being very similar. However, I think it would still be worth trying out.

That build looks like it hurts a lot but it looks kinda squishy for my liking :p

It can hold its own in 1v1s when you play your blinds and evades to your advantage, though you’d need a tanky partner for roaming to do all the stomping.

As for the revised build you posted before:

This setup has very weak condition removal. The only way you’re getting damage inflicting conditions off you is if you blowing your Shadow Step, which happens to also be your only stun-break.

You have the crit-chance of a Dire Condi Engie.

I changed your armor, runes, sigils, food, and moved 5 trait points around to help in those two areas while trying to maintain the overall feel.

That’s the tricky part of this build. If you choose to have more survivability, you are losing out on a lot of damage. Just look at how low your Crit Chance is — your PW is not going to crit enough and your on-crit sigil will even have lower chance of proc-ing. :/
