what’s the most dps build for thief in dungeons? Weapons, and traits.
Better Assassin Armor or Berserker? Rune of Eagle or Scholar?

You want the most DPS ? Take it. With 25 stacks from the Bloodlust Sigil and Ascended Weapons and Trinkets is over 10000 effective damage. lol

ok right now i have 3000 power 50 precision and 50 crit . i have almost full zerk but i don’t under stand how people r pumping out such big numbers . my dd back stabs r between 3500 and 4500 ….but there is a lot of s/d thief that r doing some pretty big back stabs . and when i try the sword my back stabs r junk …. i guess i am wondering what i can change to get better dd or ds stabs ? should i try to get more crit damage ? my traits r 30 in crit 30 in stealth and 10 in the last one . i want to use the sword dagger but i feel like it does no damage ? and i feel like i should be able to do bigger back stabs with my dd .

all the dec 10 update is doing is reducing the amount of meta builds with 25/30/0/0/15 being the last man standing
25/30/10/0/5 – used to be more effecting than //15 in fights that last longer than 18 seconds but with increased passive initiative regen that extra initiative from backstab should make less of a difference (haven’t calculated how much of a difference)

Travlane, I think you need to know that there is a difference between “DPS” and “burst damage.”

Having high Burst damage doesn’t mean high DPS, and having high DPS doesn’t mean having high burst damage.

Your 62.5k backstab is great and all, but really says nothing about your DPS other than you randomly crit really kittene time.

yes it is. and i did it. it takes absolute perfect conditions. i bet i could reach 70k with a lil more controlled experiment but yeah it is. not gonna lie the warrior was naked….but still 62k. try replicate it. i think it was like 61.5k or something but still almost 62k

you mean tactical strike. most of it is traits. a thieves’dmg or defense is MOSTLY traits….then armor 2ndary. u can have full zerk armor and accs and weapons and all ascended and still not break 3500 backstab. u need the traits.

“just trying it out” wont necessarily provide the absolute highest backstab while calculations will

62.5k might be possible… But honestly, I’m not interested enough to go through the calculations. :P but yeah, definitely some pretty perfect conditions.

ok calculated max backstab for 2 builds, both numbers include absolute max pvp buffs, banners, 25 might, 25 vuln, scholar runes, sigil of force, assassins signet (15% bonus), berserkers amulet, 25 stacks of bloodlust

25/5/0/25/10 (max possible +damage %’s) = 37547.9025

25/30/0/0/15 (max possible +damage %’s) = 46747.25709307

if anyone else can think of a buff that i missed please mention it

edit: went over it with my guild we cant think of any possible buffs missed so 62.5k was a lie unless you can prove me wrong with a video

i said in pvp, in wvw pve buffs apply meaning massive stat gains so 46k would be fairly low

well got bored again so i ran the max damage with wvw/pve buffs

30/5/0/25/10 = 4010.6 power, 258% crit damage, +120% damage
30/30/0/0/10 = 4010.6 power, 283% crit damage, +140% damage

30/5/0/25/10 max damage = 58510.864
30/30/0/0/10 max damage = 70015.114

list of buffs: disc/str banners, scholar runes, 25 bloodlust, force/night, berserkers armor, berserkers ascended weapons/trinkets, 100pow/10% crit damage food, superior sharpening stone, 15% from assassins signet, 25 stacks of vulnerability, 25 stacks of might, max borderlands bloodlust = 60 power, naked warrior with frenzy debuff

meaning the build you posted 25/x/x/25/x and filled in with traits to achieve max damage is physically incapable of hitting 62.5k (unless i missed a buff if so please list it), so in your video you didn’t use the build you posted

now ther is a way to get MUCH MUCH MUCH higher dmg… but i didnt do it in the video. i didnt stack 25 stacks of vulnerability for an additions 25% dmg. im sure you can do the math for 25% more dmg when i hit for 62k. enjoy ….they prolly nerf it now.

with this build (IF IT HITS)……….The CnD-Steal-Backstab combo is a guaranteed kill on any and every class if it crits. ther are some full hp/defense builds that can withstand it…but nobody runs 32k hp with a bunch of toughness usually. are some yes. but most builds (id guess about 85%) drop in a heartbeat.

why hasnt anyone run this? pretty obv to a seasoned thief. if u dont find a solo roamer…u r dead. period. plus there is no way of stomping.

also i used this build against a clone mesmer and just kept 1 hitting clones…was funny
