Instead of heavily focusing on Dodge/Evade Daredevil should have been more about counter attacks. We should of gotten a counter attack bar. Each block or Dodge multiplied the damage of DD abilities. Dodge spam should not have been a thing.
The counter attack bar would shrink pretty quickly after a block or dodge.

Invulns like in acrobat trait would be non existent.

Each DD utility has a perk with the counter attack bar.
One refills dodge, one gives X buff. etc.

Adjust as needed.

I like the concept of thief being the technical artistic kungkitten/NInja type
Dodge Spam does not count.

Yeah I reread it 3 times and I’m still trying to figure it out. Is the counter attack bar supposed to be like the necro shroud bar and it auto blocks hits? Once it expires you get access to your DD utilities?

But in that case it’s a block spam ^^ It’s the same as evade spam…..I was thinking about a aegis proc on demand ? or set of utility like fist flurry…you get 1 block and if you counter the skill change to an attack thingy with a special mechanic. Like a defensive version of s/d #3

Well, in Killer Instinct, there’s a character called Hisako who has 2 bars of a resource that can be spent to convert ordinary attacks into a counter. So, using that as a basis, the “counter dare devil” would instead only have 2 endurance bars, but would gain an F3 to spend 50% in order to enter a counter state.

The counter would force the thief to stand still and only block a single hit. Successful counters should stun the opponent (ignore stab and prevents mobility) but missed ones should stun the thief instead.

Traits could improve the block window, reduce the whiff penalty to a daze, stuff like that, make it ranged but weaker, or attach a steal effect to the counter itself. Other traits would enhance your other utilities and stats as long as you kept the counter gauge mostly full (lower cds, longer duration condis, more damage, etc).

And that’s just a quick brainstorm using something from another game.

The Counter Attack BAr would be filed by dodging or blocking an attack.
Each Counter attack point (or increase in a bar… lets make it points for sake of argument)
increases the damage of your next strike.

AND/OR

When your counter attack bar is filled it can be used for an entirely different/new skill.
