How Do You Beat Bunker Engineers?
on 0/30/30/10 build , i got no real problem vs them.
when they drop turrets (Elite ) i use blinding powder, change to shortbow and destroy turrents. i also use CnD + shortbow (surprise shot ) / cluster/ disable shot / hide in shadows /surpirse shot.
They are very vulnerable against imobilize and dagger storm, how every you must watch for conditions on you , before you use dagger storm.
I take it your talking about sPvP? In WvW turrets are useless other than for blast finishers. In WvW don’t waste your time killing his turrets for the elite skill, after all they drop it just for the stun to pry bar you. Best bet is to pull him off his elite which is kinda crap, but if he doesn’t get off just then just range him. Just be ready for magnet pull and pry bar.

Couple things about engineers you have to be careful of:
Elixir B has retaliation that can last 13 seconds on a traited 32 second cooldown, and there is a minor trait for an automatic elixir B when health reaches 75%. So you are talking about 26 seconds of retaliation with only a very short window of opportunity before Elixir B is back up again for another 13 seconds.
If the engineer has pistols they also have 3 seconds of confusion from #3 static shot on a untraited 15 second cool down.
As has been stated, they also have confusion from pry bar on tool kit, and projectile reflection from shield.
So basically the engineer can completely lock down range projectiles.
My bunker engineer has I wanna say 25K HPs, 3K armor, and 3.1K attack with 62% crit with food buffs and fury.
Engineers also can spec to have a ton of condition removal which nullifies p/d.
Thieves really aren’t a problem for me when I’m on my engineer, as I can reset almost any fight with 2 elixir S (1 auto at 25% one manual with a traited 48 sec cooldown).
That being said, I can’t beat a mesmer if my life depended on it.

Engineers are super powerful since patch. Lot’s of condition damage and turrets are just added bonus.
Possibly one of my hardest fights is vs. an engineer who knows what he’s doing.
Tbh when I play on my Engineer and I face a Thief I’m almost guaranteed to win if I see them before they cloak. Only trouble I have with a Thief is the HS spam when my gear block or Elixir S is on cooldown.

For my engineer, vs thief… It really depends. If I notice you, it’s probably best to just wave and go away. If you are a bad thief but I don’t notice you. You will probably implode. If your a good thief and catch me off guard…. I will just dance and take the beating most timesone I see I’m screwed anyways.
You have to at least be running condi-cleanse. That’s the bare minimum to be able to fight an engi on-point post patch. It will be very difficult to move them off point even then.

i think he meant bunkers.
but ya, the kind of engi we have to be really careful against are p/p condition/boon builds. They can auto 4 or 5 times and get you down to nothing, especially when you see them having stacks of might, be very very careful.
their aoe on other hand, don’t really do much.
bunker engi have more mitigation than d/d ele but less dps, they take even longer than d/d ele, but doable for the most part since you could stick to them, they won’t hurt you. In my experience, some of the elite d/d or s/d eles are harder to bring down.
