Thief’s do not need more dodge. They need a way to sustain when they run out of dodge with out having to waste utility by running away resetting the fight.

Daredevils are in a good place right now, non-Daredevils are in a far worse place than they were a year ago. That needs to be fixed. We should not have to go into an elite spec to recover what we lost.
And for those who say “it’s ok, everyone goes elite spec anyway,” keep in mind that you’re only allowed one elite spec at a time, at some point there will be a shiny new elite spec, and it likely won’t have DD’s triple-dodge, that would be redundant, so it would be right back where we started.

i agree with you what they tried to do with acrobatic line was not a good call on anet part.
But still even if we get back the dodge we lost wont change where thief is at. thief need a way to fight with out having to run away all the time.
the way design the acrobatic line was so thief could have a better chance of fighting on point. giving them more way to clear condition, a source of stability, a new crowd control move.

Well, that’s a whole separate issue, and the solution should be in tweaks to most if not all the trees and baseline abilities, not crammed into Acro. Acro should remain what it always was, a set based on movement and damage avoidance. There shouldn’t be anything offensive in it that isn’t directly based on dodging (such as adding bounces to pistols), it should be more evadetank-based.
Acro should be about using Dodge defensively to stay alive in a small space, and about gaining speed to move around the battlefield as needed, getting you from A to B quickly.
Daredevil should be tweaked to have less elements that overlap with that, and be more focused towards using Dodge as a weapon and DPS buff, and generally on being a stand-and-fight melee attacker.

i disagree that acro line should only be about defense
but i will accept that you do not want pistol bounce in the game. So please tell me a trait that you would like to see replace it.
How about this. for every boon on you dodge refund 3% endurance. as a replacement grand master.

Oh, I definitely want pistol bounce back, 110%, I just don’t think it has any business being in Acrobatics. They should either put it back where they took it from, or just make it baseline. Your replacement suggestion seems plausible though.
I just think that every single Acro trait should be focused on motion, either making it easier for you to move (by removing slowing conditions), faster for you to move (by giving things like Swiftness or Super Speed), safer for you to move (like safe-fall), or rewarding you for moving (by buffing you or damaging your enemies for dodging). Any trait that has nothing to do with motion, like “your pistol bounces” is just completely out of place.

The way i see it, to be on par with the tremendous power creep brought to us by HoT, it’s almost like if trickery’s essential traits had to become baseline, and the less popular but still useful options had to go into acrobatics.
But it’s not just acrobatics, the entire shadow arts line is pathetic, venoms are still completely underpowered because otherwise venom share would make it totally overpowered, so the devs figured you’d have to chose between sharing venoms and being subpar in everything, or not go into shadow arts and be a weakling condi or hybrid with insane CD on your main damage source.
Then you get critical strikes. It brings NOTHING. Absolutely nothing. The entire line is : hey you crit for more. And that’s all. Laziest of the laziest.
Anyways, even if acro or CC were buffed, who in their right mind would drop DD and trickery ?
Then you pick your choice : either play venom share which could be so great but isn’t and pick SA 3rd, or you do like almost everyone else and go for DA, because improvisation.
That’s great, maybe acro will get nerfed so more and an elite spec will come out with these ideas in ~3 years.
