Guild Wars 2

Hey guys!
I haven’t played Gw2 since October 2015, i did not buy the HoT at the time. Now i feel like playing Gw2 again but before I buy HoT i decided to jump in and see how the game is atm, it looks nothing much has changed, the SPvP servers are even emptier then before…

I’m not asking if I should or not come back or if I should buy HoT or not, i just would like to know if you guys are still having fun, if there wvwvw has action all day or just at prime time and if SPvP has long queue times ir pops quickly.

SPvP queues are quick unless you earn a high rating and there are fewer people to fight.

Rewards in WvW have drawn people in and made the mode far more active than before.

Thief is effective and fun to play in a variety of builds at the moment. Daredevil is generally more effective for what it’s worth.

Spvp is a more enjoyable experience IMO. Good luck playing thief with out Daredevil though. Large scale wvw is pretty cancer but I think its pretty active.

I haver been spectating some matches and although thieves are using different weapons they all are running DD/DA/TRIC.
I read on the forum ppl complaining about condi thieves but so far I haven’t seen one…

Before I stopped playing (not by choice) I was condi using P/D + SB sometimes using P/P just for fun.

I think I might buy HOT after all on my next day off.

PvP Is super active, plus they JUST changed the map so.. I mean you can just play arena while you wait in a free for all frenzy. Condi thieves are annoying as heck, but from what I’ve experienced, P/D SB power is still the go to. I say that because from what I’ve seen condi thieves wreck in fights, but fail in decaps and mobility and escapes. Just my experience though. More rewards in PvP now too which is wonderful. Don’t be discourage if you get insta-whacked a few times in the beginning. The play-style for thieves right now is very sensitive

I didn’t get seriously into WvW before a couple of weeks ago, and I play Thief for the most part. I started out with D/P meta that everybody seems to run, and the stealth-spam was fun for a while, but I quickly grew bored of it, mostly because it felt tedious to keep stealth up all the time. I also died a lot back then, strangely enough.

Then I swapped to S/D, and now I am having way more fun. I have NO stealth, except from the occasional steal on other thieves, so if I kitten up, I can still run away from fights with ease, but now people can see me running away!

I really struggle against D/P thieves though.

I also made a condi-thief, and it’s pretty fun as well. I haven’t really learned what works for me with such a build yet though, so I haven’t felt like I contribute much in fights.

Thief is fun, yeah.

I have gone to running Acro and Instant Reflexes on most of my thief builds. It really ups the survival against stealth builds.

Yeah I’ve started running that. I switch between Deadly Arts and Acrobatics depending on how dangerous things get. Numbers of D/P thieves in the area usually has me switching to Acrobatics immediately.

But Instant Reflexes can really only carry me that much, It’s mostly a l2p issue by now.
