How to fight bow warrior?

Keep in mind iam not noob i am 39 rank, i just see no chance vs fire field.
Maybe bow atack from 900 range , but i think warrior bow has 1200 range. mele wariors are easy, but bow…

Dpsing down and shawdow return will not work becouse u ll always take dmg when dmging oponnent.

I try to fight them outside the fire field, and if they stubbornly stay in it, I’ll try to fight them in it. If that doesn’t work, I’ll just stealth and wait for it to dissapear. The problem with the latter though, is that with some toughness, adrenaline healing and some healing power, I won’t be able to kill them before they put the next fire field up. That sort of warrior has all the survival you do on top of their superior armour and health, and they can cap a node while doing it which you can’t if you use a build with 20+ shadow arts for regeneration and condition removal via stealth.

If you can’t constantly remove their conditions you’re at a bigger disadvantage, and if you can’t kill them quickly your time is better spend at another node =\.

i fought a couple of S/D thieves before on my warrior while using bow. i found it hard to hit them with bow if they keep circling around me with FS and positioning due to slow travel speed/activation of warrior longbow even in melee range.

the fire field though….yea if you want the point i think you’re gonna have to take some damage. the fire field has actually been nerfed like twice already. now you need level 3 adrenaline for maximum size and I think burning damage ticks more infrequently.

How so? He can’t cap the point if he’s not on it. Use it to your advantage.

Longbow warriors, and warriors in general are one of the easiest matchups for Thieves atm.

Don’t bother bowing them. You won’t outdamage the healing signet at all. Instead outpressure them in melee and disengage properly.

Not sure how sword is these days, never was that fused on the weapon. Just remember that a poison field with a cluster on it will make him do something. The hammer aspect of the hambow can be easy if you can clearly see him, those big hits are pretty obvious in the animations.

The bow I find to be very easy, just blitz in and start stacking the damage, if he drops a fire field on the fight (mostly likely a cap point) just stealth out of the field and let it cleanse the fire. I sometimes go to bow and pin him in the middle, then poison+cluster on him, and the auto does some damage, enough to shave of his signet anyway. If he sticks to his bow, just pop your close range weapons back on and go to down. Keep circling around him, always be moving about, making it difficult for him to use that bow as well.

Think of the warrior as a very weak condi mesmer, you need to learn to back off a little at times, but make sure when you go onto the offensive you really push it hard. He will 8/10 times turtle up and thats just a case of keeping the pressure on.

Keeping the poison up on him will really help, that famous healing will take a hit if you keep it up all the time.

Might be time to move to a dagger, that poison on the auto really does shine in the healing reduction.

Hambow Warriors are rather tricky, especially if they’re very durable.

It also depends on exactly what traits you picked in the Acrobatics tree.

Anyway, I generally try and Infiltrator’s Strike to them so as to have a Return outside of their inevitable fire-field.

I then spam the usual DPS abilities to pressure him while removing boons where possible while evading as much damage as I can.

Make sure to Steal Whirling Axe and use it just when he switches back to Longbow from Hammer. Because the Warrior can switch weapons so frequently (5 seconds cooldown) that’s the only time you can hope to reflect the projectiles.

Since many Warriors aren’t accustomed to the projectile reflect of Whirling Axe it can deal quite a lot of damage.

It’s also great because it allows your Initative to catch up again allowing you to continue spaming damage and evades when it ends.

It’s not a guaranteed win but a well-timed Whirling Axe makes a huge difference against Hambows.

I run a trickery build as a s/d and d/d spec the 20sec steal with a Stun help’s me allot, as the poster above stated whirling axe helps allot anytime the bow comes out I whirl immediately, plus honestly I run scorpion wire allot to to pull ppl out of fields or just to interrupt, wars have easy access to stabilty but it’s easy to hit it still cause no one runs it, normally they run hammer in there other set which is easily countered as a thief

Stay out of the fire field until it clears, or unleash a backstab combo before they have cast the field.

The best way to play theif is to play hit and run. Engage unload then get ooc. You usually won’t take them down upon your initial burst, so figure out what survivability works for you to finish the job. I will Hide in Shadows after the fire field stops to remove burning and try another backstab. I’ll also swap from d/d to d/p in order to throw down black powder.

Honestly, you play theif pretty much the same way vs every class, you just have to execute and know the minor differences.
