How to fix last refuge

They can add a “… and shadowstep you away”.
This way you wont die for having revealed up, but for being throw out of cliffs or into packs of mobs and zergs. Or beeing to far to CnD anything…
they already have that on the grandmaster acrobatics trait. I can tell you from experience that it’s trash and very unreliable. Plus, if you’re in a close fight with something and you jump on it (with daggers or sword) and it still has ranged out and you tip just below 25% and shadowstep away. That’d be a MAJOR kitten off for me and many others.

They already have that, Its Called “Hard to Catch”, it teleports you if you get disabled in any way and it also gives swiftness.
I think you guys missed the sarcasm… but its ok… sometimes it perma-stealth. =P
They should just make it turn into a blind field/smoke screen.
It’s killed me too many times…

oh lol my b! I completely misread the last part :P But yea it’d be funny if the skill now kills you twice as hard. Probably wouldn’t notice a difference

They need to remove the link between Last Refuge and Blinding Powder, because anything done to this trait will affect Blinding Powder. That’s the first step.
Second, the idea behind this trait is to put us in stealth and we could careless about blinding at this point since we already drop to 25% health. So if that is the case, then they should simplify this trait like this;
“Remove Revealed status and vanish in stealth when your health reaches 25% (90-second cooldown). "
By removing its attachment to Blinding Powder, the trigger will not act as an attack, thus it will not trigger the Revealed status.
By having it remove the Revealed status, it will always serve as the “last refuge” of the Thief as intended it to be.

PvE – DD/CS/AC – If that didn’t work, roll a Reaper or Revenant.
By removing its attachment to Blinding Powder, the trigger will not act as an attack, thus it will not trigger the Revealed status.
The trigger has never acted as an attack.
The insta-revealed is caused due to the Stealth proccing mid-attack so that the attack you intend to land (Often it’s a CnD just to be ironic) gives you Revealed without you anticipating it (Since it’s pretty difficult to anticipate dropping to below 25% health, especially with the low base health of Thieves making it so that a lot of hits can do 50% > 25% in one go)
There’s two kinds of people… The quick and the dead”

Ah thanks, it’s hard to see which happens first, but either way, it needs to be detached so that they can tweak it without affecting the actual Blinding Powder skill.

the whole problem with this skill is that it removes all control the players has towards using it effectively. Rangers have the same problem with their pets except their pets. Main difference is that the pets are a problem 100% of the fight but the pet isn’t getting the player killed 90% of the time it’s activated.

Last Refuge (v2) : grants 1s of evasion when you enter Stealth while under 25% HP.
Its pointless to try and fix Last Refuge in its current form – it literally can’t be done due to the lack of control the player has over it. Lets look at some scenarios
A)Last refuge goes off when you’ve already got revealed. —> The proposed solution would be to make the ability ignore revealed or remove the revealed effect entirely. This would not solve the “I Hit 25% in the middle of casting an ability” issue, which happens often with Last Refuge. This would also rarely enable double stealth attacks (BS, hit 25% almost immediately after and stealth via last refuge, BS again), which people would undoubtedly kitten about.
B)Last refuge goes off mid-swing, causing you to stealth for a fraction of a second, land said attack (CnD, HS, shadowshot, sword AA, etc), immediately losing stealth and getting the revealed debuff —> No good proposed solution to this. You don’t want the attack interrupted (what if I was about to daze a target who was healing, or do that last sliver of damage before they hit an escape/immune?) because that robs control from the player. Letting that one attack ignore the normal stealth rules would cause programming issues (imagine PW or Unload or FS going off and not breaking stealth) and player complaints (because they already complain about how broken stealth is because they’re too lazy to learn the simple way to counter it).
It’d be better to just change the way the skill works entirely – stof’s “1s of evasion when you enter stealth with less than 25% hp” suggestion is good from a design standpoint- it doesn’t do anything automatically, so the player has full control of the effect.
pre-ordered HOT at this point,
save yourself the money and don’t bother.

Lol for me it was a shadow refuge yesterday. First time I’ve ever noticed being killed by it, usually saves me in wvw because the only stealth skill i have is shadow refuge.
