How to get 10k BS Thief?
traits… 25-30-0-0-15 or 30-30-0-0-10 for max dps, if you want the big numbers use all signets and the trait that when u use a signet you get 5 stacks of might. there you go BS 10k+
Dont expect to hit 3.2k+ armor guardians with protection that high though
25/30/0/0/15 (http://www.guildwars2guru.com/topic/84546-the-perfect-dps-thief-build/) will give incredibly high backstabs, with no defense from traits. You’d probably want to run different utilities in WvW, but hey.
Food is important, I use T6 Sharpening Stones and 100 Power/70 Precision food.
You should definitely try to get Scholar Runes, since with no defense you’ll probably be at 100% health or dead.
Stack up Bloodlust to 25, then swap to a Force/Accuracy or Force/Night (Obviously, at night).
A 10k backstab would, for my thief (full exotic/ascended everything) be against a relatively bulky Engineer or Ranger. I’ve gotten 14k on glass warriors, bad Rangers have seen upwards of 16k, and recently I killed an uplevel ele 100-0% with a single Cloak and Dagger.

Which utilities do you typically use in WvW? And which foods? I didn’t see one that he listed that gave power and prec.

Use this build and you should be able to BS for 10k+
stats:
attack = 3.7k
Crit chance = 45-50% or 100% in stealth
crit dmg = 121% for a total of 277% crit dmg
with 20 stacks of might and 25 stacks of Bloodlust your attack will reach around 4.6k
now to add the %dmg
15% from weapons (force and night)
10% from rune 6 (hp above 90%)
30% from traits (Exposed Weakness, Dagger Training, First Strikes, Flanking Strikes)
for a total of 55% more dmg.

I use the food Plate of Truffle Steak. He doesn’t list them because precision is more important in dungeon runs to get to 100% crit chance for more damage overall.
In WvW, I use Hide in Shadows, Shadow Refuge, Signet of Shadows, Shadowstep. Pretty much all of my defense comes from my utilities, as I do far more than enough damage without them to take most players out. If you wanted to focus solely on doing damage with backstabs, Assassin’s Signet, Signet of Agility, and Shadowstep/Skale Venom would be the way to go.
Also, I decided to go out and get some numbers to back up my talk.
This was a (very short) 1v1 with a Warrior at night. I assume he was full glass or nearly, and given that he’s a Bronze Raider with Food/Wrench, I assume he was wearing exotics or better in all slots.
I had my 25 stacks of bloodlust, food, Minor Borderlands BL, and my Sigil of Night in my offhand dagger.
Also, bask in my superb MSPaint skills.
I’ll just leave this here… https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/thief/So-I-Backstabbed-for-28k/first#post2900616
Whatever you do, do NOT buy Celestial gear, it’s an absolute waste of money on any profession, and you’d be much better off replacing it with Soldiers if survivability was your end goal. Valkyrie is also a waste of time on the Thief profession since you maintain higher damage with a 3 Soldier/3 Beserker split than you do using Valkyrie/Berserker.
The math behind that can be found here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/thief/Building-a-better-D-D-thief/
As for your goal, 100% Berserker with 25/30/0/0/15 and D/D + SB, Might on signet use and 4 signets (as shown above) will net you a hell of a lot of damage in a single CnD > Mug > Backstab combo. However, you have even less survivability than a regular glass cannon, so I personally prefer to just use Withdraw, Shadow Refuge, Shadow Step, Signet of Shadows and Basilisk Venom to maintain some utility and make for some really interesting fights since you can actually stand your ground if you’re good enough.
all is vain

I was running 30/30/0/0/10 with the 4 sig might stack and 2 might on venoms an after stacking 22 might and stacking the bonus with assassin’s signet I managed to hit a 17k cloak and dagger + mug combo and literally one shotted a Mesmer. I’ll try to record some video because it’s absolutely hilarious. The downside is a whirlwind or 3 hits of a volley will kill you. Viable? No. Hilarious? Yes.

Yski would be the person to talk to about this.
His video:

His build is in the description.
Very glassy, and all the utility slots are used for an offensive burst.
I run 30/30/10/0/0, d/p and d/d. Utils are assassin signet, shadow step, shadow refuge. The 10 points in shadow arts are all you need to gain perma stealth through d/p, which is very useful for instagib thief.
