How to kill banner warrior?
Swap to shortbow, poison fields.
Simple as that. Swap back, proceed to burst him down.
Most likely running something like 5/0/30/30/5 with Inspiring Battle Standard + Healing Signet. With that build you regenerate ~800hp/s. If you’re doing less damage than that (and you may be, considering he was probably using Settlers amulet + Melandru runes), he’ll just regenerate through the whole thing.
The key to taking down this build is Shortbow #2 shotgunning for bleeds (if you’re using 10/30/0/0/30 you have the condition damage for it thanks to Trickery) and #4 for the poison field to reduce that healing by 33% down to ~530.
There’s no point blinding him because he hits like a wet noodle anyway, even as a glass cannon you should be able to survive the pitiful amount of damage if you properly evade and avoid attacks while using the Shortbow.

In spvp you have to take nodes. If he is standing on the node and I can’t kill him relatively quickly then its an issue for me.
Against guardian bunkers there is room to interrupt key abilities and apply extreme pressure, but I can’t see any obvious way to outplay a build that can just stand there doing nothing and be barely affected by attacks that would have killed most other builds three times over if the player had just stood still doing nothing in my blind field.
That’s why I asked about it.
To be honest I am dubious about shortbow being effective, because I used that strategy with d/d thief against non-tank warriors and it didn’t work. My auto attack has poison on the third strike for free and hits faster and pretty much as hard as shortbow, plus I basically can’t be hit when using d/p (because of blind). It seems illogical to swap to shortbow but I’ll still give it a try since it was suggested.
Dagger auto attack also applies poison on the 3rd hit keep in mind. Just forget blinding him and just keep the poison up. If he is honestly hitting that weak just evade every now and then and wiggle him down.
You can also start ooc and initiative with choking gas, then swap immediately to your melee set and attack versus waiting on the cooldown of weapon swap. If you throw like 2-3 fields on the node, it will cover it and unless he removes those conditions at the very end it will last long enough for a weapon swap rotation.

You only need 2 points….
If hes on mid you have at least 3 other teammates with you, so call target on him and try to burst down his friends while they run back. If hes on far…who cares :/ go get home back

You will fair far better in a team fight dropping clusterbombs, poison fields, and ganking low targets or even assisting home if the enemy is trying to push than solo-pushing far. Remember, if the warrior is sitting afk on his home, that means you can usually create a numbers advantage at mid if your team isn’t completely terrible. At the very least, you will not put your team one man out (trying to cap a node that has already been capped) if you choose to not fight the banner warrior. If you can get another teammate to join your to push far, however, this is a different story.
in 1vs1 you probably won’t kill a banner warrior, it’s 30.8k hp with 10% dmg reduction (not kidding) with condi cleanse, block, mobility, stun and they even do some decent damage, try poisoning and bursting, but he will most likely cleanse the poison and start the tankfest.

I am glad you chimed in Jack. I have only played against this build a few times (in tpvp), each time at mid. One time my team was quite coordinated so it was always three vs one at mid- even so the warrior took so much to take down it was amazing.
Another time I foolishly went in alone, because I have become confident of taking on warriors with d/p- which is such an awesome anti-warrior weapon set- and when he just stood in my blind field I thought “thank you!” (its the kindest thing a warrior can do), but with my fourth backstab hardly moving his health bar I was like “wtf!”.
