Hi there….so I believe i’m going to delve into the D/D backstab thief build after leveling as condition for most of the game….and was wondering if someone could shed some light on the rotation that one uses to maximize the initiative to CnD ratio?

I heard that when it was nerfed up to 4s…that it threw off the rotation and really hurt thieves….so

What are your guys’ usual rotation?

The dagger auto attack chain takes almost exactly 3 seconds so before the nerf the usual rotation was cnd>backstab>auto attack chain>cnd. With infusion of shadows you could keep this up indefinitely. There was negligible downtime between the attacks so the 4s nerf really killed the flow of the build.

30/30/10/0/0 traits too

well dagger auto attack chain is actually around 2 seconds but when you add latency and delays between the end of the backstab and the start of the autoattack and such unless you have either bad lag or are connected to ANETs servers directly and are some sort of insane cyborg gamer that can hit the times perfectly your going to be able to CnD after the chain and almost guaranteed that revealed was worn off (if you also factor in CnD’s cast time)

ah thanks a ton! im guessing u forget backstab and start heartseeker spam once they get around 30%?

once they are below 25% heartseeker then becomes the best possible DPS IF you have the initiative to kill them with it before hitting starvation as with the right traits you can maintain the backstab cycle indefinitely but not heartseeker which will drain you rapidly and once your empty its at base a 4 second wait time between heartseekers which results in a rapidly dropping “dps” score.

I actually use 0/30/30/10/0, I prefer a little less glass haha

Also on the subject of heartseeker, I primarily use it sparingly as a gap closer in combat and as a finisher if they’re left on 10%ish after a burst.
