I can do it with D/D, D/P, P/P, even without using weapons at all, but I can’t seem to do it without dying when I run S/D. Fighting actual people, I have no problem, but that many veterans just overwhelms me when I don’t have stealth.

But honestly I’ve never had problems soloing 100-150 camps on s/d..
Problems begin with 200-250. For these it’s better to go for S/P(just swap in if you stumble across undefended but yet upgraded camp) if you want to clear a camp in one go.

switch your dagger offhand for a pistol, and you’ll do fine. I’ve found s/d to just be too single target focused to properly cut down the camp veterans. AOE blinds, interrupts, and melee cleave makes it much easier.

This. Also, swapping in Dagger Storm as your elite can help, particularly if you have any trouble LOSing the scouts, but it’s not entirely necessary.

I usually slot in Daggerstorm when I’m soloing camps. Makes it a lot faster.

Use #3 to evade blind shots and CC from guards. #2 to shadowstep to the scouts, take them out and if you drop below 50%, use cloak and dagger to reset the fight a bit (wait for cooldowns etc). if the group of them starts catching ya, just infiltrators return back and have them chase u again. basically its a combination of shadowstepping back and forth, a bit of evades and a touch of stealth.

I was having trouble taking camps as d/p.

Ty for suggestions. Took, sword pistol—and no problem.
All the blinds, no positional requirements, and no set up needed compared to d/p

And it might be slower but I always take out both guards first.

That was the point of the question lol. CnD is used for stealth on both D/D and S/D and OP says he has no stealth on S/D but can solo camps fine in D/D because of it.

Though soloing camps should be substantially easier on S/D than D/D. The better cleave, condition cleansing, in-out damage avoidance, weakness on autos, better evades, and CC off of Tac Strike for heal interrupts makes it substantially easier to do.
