Wvw D/p thieves run cavalier trinkets these days , so they get to be tanky and still hit like a truck thanx to hidden killer , its cheese at its best but your choice if you want to be part of that gang :-).
Try 2/6/0/0/6, more damage and more utility (allows you more control over the fight) than the spec you’re running. Find some ways to get a little gold and re-gear more tanky until your reflexes speed up enough.
Highest Solo Queue Rank Achieved: 40
Highest solo-join Team Queue Rank Achieved: 198
0/6/6/2/0 is as bulky as it gets.
Personally I’m running full zerk and have little trouble surviving. The issue is mostly how knowledgeable you know of other classes. Each class have their hardhitting moves and you need to dodge that.
But also, anytime if you do take damage, your first option is going into stealth. D/P combo is going Black Bowder → Heartseeker. This blinds the enemy, maybe allow you to hit a free Heartseeker in, and going into stealth. You should be traited for getting heals, initiative, and condi removal in Shadow Arts.
Stay for the full 4 seconds before getting the Backstab. That’s about 1k of heals in stealth. If you’re traited for Shadow Arts, you better use Stealth as often as possible while landing the backstab. It’s something to practice for, certainly. But there is a lot of options for stealth here, so you shouldn’t be dying too often when D/P is the grandmaster at disengaging and sustainability.
Utilities wise people usually run with Shadowstep, Shadow Refuge, and Blinding Powder/Break stun signet. I myself prefer Shadowstep, Blinding powder, and Roll for intiative. I find roll for intiative a better get-away than SR. As a solo roamer SR doesn’t have as much usage when you can disengage perfectly fine without it. It’s usually much more useful in small party roaming when you need to res a party member.

Vs a thief be prepared to black powder. Antcipate the jump and drop it right as they try to jump you about the daze jst run blinding powder/ shadowstep.
Thanks for the great replies. Do most people just accept normal running speed? Is fleet shadow worthwhile?

Most people will use signet of shadows with shadow step and shadow refuge. However one really awesome roaming partner for this build is a hammer+Sw/Wh warrior with healing shouts. In that case the lot provide swiftness so you can drop the signet for blinding powder (which also stealthed everyone around you). Somewhat off topic but i went on a roaming spree as a d/p thief with this type of warrior and a d/d aurashare ele. We were literally unkilkable for hours, and we destroyed everyone in our path, even going against twice our numbers. We had no team speak or voice comm or anything. This mix just synergizes so extremely well together. So if you roam with friends try that out.
Yes fleet of shadow is an Option if you Dont Like or cant afford traveller runes, or any other Kind of speed increasing runes.
Fleet of shadow Has a nice description but sadly you wont get +50% speed while ooc. Its capped at 33%.
You only get it while in combat.
It helps landing backstabs, which is extremely important for d/d builts because this Set Has only hs to close gaps (which Deals dmg and thus reveales you while you do it in stealth). D/p on the other Hand Has shadowshot thingy which Has 900range and the damaging Part can be canceled with any other attack. So…if you are in stealth and your enemy is lets say 765 units away from you, you could cast 3 on d/p and immediately press 1 (backstab). You will teleport to your enemy and backstab him.
You wont have time to reposition so this is mainly good vs fleeing opponents, but still…You get a 900range backstab on demand.
^ Not true. Out of combat Fleet of Shadows is quicker than just Swiftness buff.

Its not

It was Always only a nice skill description

No it wasnt. It works as described -increases movement speed by 50% while in stealth. Movement speed is hard capped at around 133%, thats why it cant get to its full potential while out of combat and works just fine in combat, because combat decreases you movement speed by a lot giving trait some working space. When are u kittens gonna realize that.
