I just don’t feel like a lot has changed. I’ve seen some people say that we aren’t a +1’ing profession anymore but I don’t see it. I’ve been playing my Thief the way I played last meta but with a few minor changes. +1ing and between node ganking is still viable. DPS harassing and peeling are still viable goals.

I totally understand S/D Thieves being upset. I get it. It appears they’ve forced us into a D/P situation, but you can make it work with all the changes to PVP.

Our burst is good. Let’s be honest. What’s not good is being fairly squishy in melee range in a game that has a metric crap ton of what I like to call “accidental damage”. This is damage that wasn’t really intended for you. I’ve fixed some of these problems with the trait line we all seem to hate: Acrobatics. We’re no good getting burst down in half a second. You can still be the Thief you were, you just have to adapt a little differently.

I’ve always just followed meta, while occasionally finding fun troll builds just for my stream, but this time I wanted to be proactive. This build has worked for me the past 2 days and it’s removed the black cloud from the recent patch that seemed to knock the wind out of us. I didn’t go into a ton of detail in the build because you know how everything works by now.

I donno. I’m finding it fun.

Thieves are plain bad now. They nerfed us to hell and while we have great damage as glass cannons thats all you can really play now. Now if you want to go full bunker build you can but there is no in between.
Either you die as a glass cannon or wait for support from your teammates as a bunker. Plus we get one shot from certain abilities which is outrageous. It is outstanding that the other classes got a buff but now if you think about it they are all just as good as thieves now. It makes no sense they would buff all the classes and then hard nerf thieves. In my opinion thief didn’t need to be touched since the other classes were buffed to our tier now.

For me there are just a few things which are bad:
The Bugs (like not cleansing Condi on entering Stealth with SE)
Acro being hit hard
The viability of the adept tier in SA

About your D/P build, I’m runing it on full Zerk, using blinding Power over Infiltrator, Double Air/Fire Sigils and DA/SA/Trickery and using venom Share. Makes Basilisk Venom quite kitten by +1 ^,..,^
Only change from before where I run Rune of the Pack, now running the Vamp Rune like you. It is all I need to not die and I’m using Dagger Training over Mug (love it, you shall not heal fully!) Still it is a bit harder to play than before, Marauder can fix that a bit^^ Or tacking Trickster over bountifull theft-

The most fun I have is with a Venom Share build going Carrion. The build is in Progress and is only working with at least two friends in TS, but it makes a huge difference as soon as I start sharing the venoms.

I don’t think a Venom Share in a solo queue will ever work, sadly. With friends like you were doing it’d be great. If you want to share your sPVP Venom Share, by all means, do so. I’m interested.

You are right, it only works with mates you can communicate to. That is the drawback, as I can say: Come back, ready for share.
xD one of my Mates play Warri with axe… he always waits for his share of venoms to make a spin of doom, which really is quite nasty for an opponent.

My Venom Share sure is not for solo entering…

There I use d/p SB, though my SB sees alot of use xD entering the fray is a bit more dangerous now.

So, if I want to play S/D, the best build to play is D/P

Never said anything about S/D. For S/D I do not have a direct advice, because I had no time to test it.

I would like to test something like CS/Acro/SA, Marauder/Assassin/Berserker. I do not say that this is good, just that I would like to test it that way.

Day 3 with this build and it’s still testing well.

I thought at 1st you figured something out.
