I know this is old but, Pistol Whip?
Pistol whip didnĀ“t needed nerf at all, the problem ppl were whining about was caused by quickness mechanic, not the skill itself…..
Quickness is too powerful. Pistol Whip got scapegoated.

It didn’t need a nerf, Quickness in general did. It’s a stupid boon that imbalances everything the moment it’s used. 33% speed increase cap in GW1 was fine. Double speed is unbelievably bad.

Worse: it’s not a boon (it’s an effect) so it can’t even be ripped, stolen or transmuted by your opponent.
I actually have a PW thief still, for PvE its really, really, really good. For PvP its only good if the opponent is immobilized or if they’re bad.
Haste though is what makes PW good, it allows you to basically do 2 pistol whips in the time frame of 1…broken? Not really but I could see how people would cry about it when they’re bad enough not to dodge or save their remove condition for when they get immobilized.
If you still want to use Pistol Whip build a Signet Thief who functions more like a brawler/bully.
Signets of Power, Signet Use, Assassin’s Reward, Executioner are the main traits to use…rest is optional…as is the 5 points in the 1st and 5th trait tree (they can be put anywhere).
So basically 5/30/30/0/5
Signet of Malice, Assassin’s Signet, Signet of Shadows OR Signet of Agility (Agility may be better because it removes a condition), Haste, Dagger Storm.
Yes, it’s obvious that the Quickness buff should be 1.5 speed instead of double speed, that would have been a better fix than nerfing Pistol Whip’s damage.
Yeah my bad Snafoo, I’m so used to referring to stuff as boons. Truly ridiculous.

I think everyone, except Anet, agrees the problem with PW was the quickness and that quickness, regardless of class, is OP and needs adjustment.
I really agree with a lot of the sentiments here. Quickness needs a nerf. Just change it to 50% faster attack speed instead of 100%, or even remove the mechanic entirely. If they want to reduce insane burst, that’s the easiest way to do it. Suddenly 100B, PistolWhip and the like don’t look too bad.
A short duration buff that allows for “only” +50% damage is also borderline OP. If they lower it to +50%, they need to keep in the drawbacks
I just don’t understand how +100% has managed to stay in. Maybe they look at it in respect to the fact that everyone has 2 (or more) 100% immunity dodges. And many classes have 3s damage immunity like Endure Pain and Mist Form
