I´m sick of it
Have played theif before and after the “nerf” and am quite happy with the damage i do. Would quite happily take any more nerfs as long as they add more utility.
Also stop making up numbers, it’s quite hard getting even to 10K damage with hundred blades on a light armor golem in full berserker gear. In general hundred blades will do around 6K if nothing is dodged, any other numbers are a result of insane might stacking (unrealistic in pvp), luck and targets with the least possible toughness.
It’s the same as people claiming they get hit by 30K backstabs, in general a backstab will do around 5-6K damage, unless you stack a ton of might and prenerf signet. The difference is that landing a backstab is a thousand times easier than landing a full hundred blades, even though they do the same damage.

Sigh get over it. The nerf needs to happen and that’s about it. Its not about the dps but about how there is very little glass in your cannon. Either they nerf the glass (stealth) which has already been done or they nerf the cannon (c&d steal backstab combo).
Lets get this straight. 100b is not backstab. Its slow clunky and easy to avoid. For all the qq from the community I hear more qq from thieves all running the same build. each of who feel they have got real skill. Fact is when they nerf it like they have nerfed every glass cannon thief since the start of mmos many of you will quit. Your “I win!” toy will be broken and you will cry foul play. Fact is stealth haste 2 second combos that do massive damage should not be in mmos anymore.
You know there’s a saying “A wise man learns from the mistakes of others.” This is a mistake that gets repeated over and over in mmo development but no one ever learns. The pattern never changes. Thieves. rogues. assassins. any class with 2 daggers and the ability to turn invisible run around winning in pvp, ganking in open world, and feel like their balanced. History shows us its never ever never balanced as a mechanic. It never has been and it never will be.
My advice to you is to learn. When ever you move onto your next game and you choose to run around 2 daggers and stealth. If you notice you are winning a lot. Stop roll any other class and see if you can produce the same results. If you can’t then your rogue, assassin, thief etc is op and is in need of a nerf and guess what it will happen. That’s the way the story goes.
If you really care about the class demand they make the other builds more viable, Stop relying on the same weak mechanics to get your wins, and most of all stop playing dumb like you all don’t get why people are kittening pissed about this. There are 8 classes and one build on one class demands this much attention. It’s disgusting at this point that the thief forums is all QQ whether it be from other players or thieves afraid of a nerf.
Eat the nerf make you new builds that work and prove your’e actually good.

6 seconds revealed is too long. If you can’t kill a glassy in 6 seconds there is a skill gap between you and the glass cannon. Considering thieves attacks aren’t actually all THAT strong outside of backstab in a GC build it’s too much. You can’t auto attack people to death with a thief. You can’t start heartseeker till much lower health because you waste too much initiative. Death blossom only works on condi builds (except for the evade) and throwing dagger is useful for cripple, not not a DPS skill unless there are 2 targets, in which case if you don’t down the thief in 6 seconds, you’re both bad.
CnD cannot be made interruptable by steal. Only steal can be made to interrupt cnd at which point it will also interrupt other skills and that cannot be accepted.
I realy think Theguy was spot on.
All this whining is ridiculous, Thief needs fixing. There is zero doubt about that.
The burst needs reducing somehow. There is no excuse for winning a fight in the first 2 seconds period.
The thief needs more utility… sure.
But this must come at the expense of our ability to take someone from 100 to 0 in 4 seconds then escaping, it just isnt right for any class to be able to pull that off.
Talking about warriors HB? lmao
Point out anyone who has been hit by warriors HB’s since a week after release and ill show you the worst PvP’er on earth.
Best escapes of any class.
Stealth.
Highest burst of any class.
Most mobile of any class.
And on top of all this we have a graphical issue that helps us with another 1-2 seconds of stealth, namely the rendering issues.
No one class can be a jack of all trades and a master of all.

Arctic Red, if we talk about the extent of mobility both warrior and ele can outperform any thief.
For higher burst thief stands on top of only by damage/time part of its effective time of burst.
Best escapes: we share the same best escapes with other classes, we just have access to more of them
Stealth is a trademark of a thief. Even at that mesmer can have more effective stealth than good chunk of thief builds
If you replace best/most/etc in your post with decent/good when specced that way it will be much more objective

No it doesnt the issue is with game and culling. Ganking is PvP. If you stop the first attack we are dead. And you realize that the class is supposed to be a roaming skirmisher right? that is the design?That is our strongest attributes.

Every thread is an out of context cheap shot at a thief. hitting a low level in cheap gear full glass cannon.
I have been killed by every class does that mean they all need to be nerfed – hell Ya.
Hit for 12k by a warr – I dont run and yell nerf -i figure out how they did it to avoid it.
People Make out that we are invincible incredible killing machines. Really when I am on my engineer thieves are easy targets.
It is time people grow up and actually learn how to play the game instead of give me cookie I lost but I won.
The issue is between the keyboard and the chair and the attitude. So from now on I am going into every thread to complain about how OP that class is like they do about thieves.
All I want from anet is to not listen to the whiners and look at the data and be fair.
They have bowed to pressure and I dont like that.
It is hard when you feel persecuted by people who dont know what they are doing and are simply bad.For the first time in a game I am very defensive about a class I enjoy playing.

Yes, @TheGuy was right on. Thieves need nerfs.
Stealth characters are always good at pubstomping. The lower the skill level, the stronger a gank/burst character is – their victims have higher reaction times, make worse decisions, are less aware, and run weaker builds.
This makes any sort of stealth character difficult to balance, because numbers that would be balanced for the 10th percentile would make the class utterly useless at the 90th percentile.
I think you have to just accept some amount of pubstomping on the bottom and balance around a reasonably high point, +0.5 – +1 standard deviation or so. You can’t balance around the very top for these abilities or you let the bulk of your gameplay experience turn to crap, and you can’t balance around the very bottom because that slags the class for your core players who are a bit above average and play a ton.
Any character that’s better against the bottom than the top, and that kills quickly, is going to get complaints regardless of what you do to it, however, up until the point it’s a molten heap of slag.
Thiefs HAVE been eating nerfs since release. And each time they move to new builds, they end up getting nerfed too! This is what OP was sick about.

Bah this demn backstabbie, yet again..Yes as a thief I agree with theguy. I haven’t settled on a build/playstyle but like a different approach and I can see the D/D combos are the most easy and damaging. So why not play it? That’s what alot of players want awesome 3 second kills, isn’t that cute? For me it does very little to help WvW which I play. All said and done I contribute alot more to WvW with my bow, my movement , and my awesome timely resses on downed players. I equip the tools to survive these other pesky thieves and can go in melee to take opportune targets. I really can understand why D/D is so popular, it is kinda OP and I do no where near the 22K in about 3 seconds I’ve seen a thief do on me (although he 10 mins later to me). But its a one trick wonder thing, co-ordinated teams don;t really have so much to fear. When teams get co-ordinated and WvW comes along with large scale fights it really doesn’t make such an impact.
