Ho thieves

I am really struggling in the Charr’s noob area. I am trying to get the skill point at the NE section of the map, in the monastery like building but it has loads of people defending it and I keep failing. I am a good couple of levels above the mob but I keep getting owned.

I should be able to solo the noob area right? I am a completionist so not being able to get this skill point its galling. What am I doing wrong?

With the extremely squishy professions (basic Ele and Thief) some parts are rather difficult, since we can’t handle very tough and/or many mobs very well.

So yes, generally you can solo the whole map, but as these professions you might consider getting some help here and there.

Maybe ask in your guild for some Mesmer/Warrior/Ranger/Engeneer/Necro/Guardian to clear the path for you.

Not at all, with thieves guild you can solo all map, just learn to use stealth ability (CnD over all).

Ask for help, or come back when you are a much higher level. Gear check yourself every 10 lvls (go on AH and buy the best gear (never above green) until lvl 70))

Can’t argue with that, since i had never any problems playing my Thief, but i know a lot of people having trouble with their Elementalists and Thieves.

Otherwise, grabbing a shortbow and kiting in circle works very well.

Isn’t P/D much better for kiting? Damage with 1, slow with 4, in case of need, get distance with 3

The skillpoint at foefire’s heart? Must be a contender for the hardest beginner area skillpoint.

Getting there was no problem, at level 80 P/D, but I found it faster to just skip that circular room by going in stealth and running up the stairs, as they spawned back at an amazing rate.

If you have enough stealth skills unlocked (blinding powder, shadow refuge) you can do that, the veteran Mage should be doable with some dodging.
Otherwise, get help. I am sure everyone is struggling with it as well.

I know what skill point you’re talking about and that one is a pain. I’ve gotten it on my engi and necro too, but only with help. The problem is the respawn rate of the ghosts. It’s not really a thief issue here. There are just some completion-related things in this game that require some help…nothing to be worried about.

Yes! Thats to skill point. I am really glad it is not just me that has struggled for that one.

I have fought my way to the top of the stairs so many times only for a couple of respawns to overwhelm me moments before the timer runs down for the SP. Cost me loads in armour repairs too – grrrrr!

I did think about stealth but they don’t seem to last long enough. I might have to create a build just for that.
