IS Shadow Return no longer a stun breaker...
Yeah ! , and it wasn’t even on the nerf list ! WTF !?!
stealth nerfs are true !
It isn’t a true stun breaker but it is still an instant cast teleport. So you’ll be stunned for all 1/4 of a second but you’ll be 1200 units away from the guy who’s trying to jam a sword down your throat.

Bahaha. I was waiting for someone to say it, and so tactfully.
But seriously, the man’s right. It’s still perfectly useful, it’s usable while stunned, but it’s not going to let you cheese with permanent mobility.

For an example of a useful skill that works somewhat like this: Mesmer staff’s phase retreat. If nothing else, they can escape skills like 100 blades very nicely.
Edit: I’m honestly a little sad to think of this skill without its stunbreak. I always thought it was hilarious that a cautious S/ thief could basically never be locked down.
It’s pretty obvious, and nobody’s impressed.

It was (well, technically it still is) our best defense against knockdowns, since the class have miserable access to stability.
Furthermore, in PvE some monster knockdowns are pretty long duration…. Oh! But who cares about PvE in first place? …
Nice Job with the promised thief-mobility buffs, Anet… You are doing a tremendous work here. Keep’m rolling… I’m curious to see how much more mobile could you make the thief class.
tbh it was not nerfed last patch, it was fixed … a teleport with no range limit ? lol
I wonder if your still able to teleport while stun, it’s still in instant cast skill and there is nothing in the patch notes suggesting otherwise.
And like other non-stun breaking instant cast teleports (steal, phase retreat) your still able get out of harms way, it just your still stun. All this will really do is slow down the thief from coming back.

No, you will not be 1200 away, it’s very rare to use the skill chain at full range during actual combat. It has limited use beyond stun-breaker, you can avoid some melee or AoE damage, but channeled attacks will still hit.
People threatening to delete their characters because of made up patch notes. Priceless.
Honestly, they should lower the initiative of IS to 1, and SR to 2.

Denying their falsity doesn’t make them true. (Hmm why I feel irony somewhere.. )
The notes seem 3 weeks old.

No I mean, every time I hear someone say they’ll delete their character, it makes me laugh.
I have no comment on false or true, don’t rly mind if those were the updates rly.

mesmers use phase retreat as the new shadow return is described. It’s not as useful as blink (an actual stunbreaker), but it does allow mesmers to effectively protect themselves somewhat when stunned.
anyone else realize that shadow return on IS is the only reason people dont have to play stealth? of fact is that stealth causes blindness and drops 2 conditions in 3 seconds….. without a stun break now we have to play stealth in the build to have the survivability back up to a playable build….which means it wont be as viable in spvp due to stealth. s/d is basically a backup weaponset for wvw due to the shortening range of SR down to 1200 from infinite….which really affects nothing other than our ability to not play invis :P. s/d is also good in spvp as a main set due to the ability to play it and not be stun owned by other players. As you are aware s/d is ONLY a zerk"ish" weapson set as its extremely slow and has no condition damage capacity at all … no bleed no poison no burn no confusion. so you take away its defensive capabilities and you are left with a very very very VERRRRRY risky build that will die in a 2 v 1 everytime now where as it atleast had a chance to stay alive before. usually 15k is the highest you will run s/d with and usually 0 toughness on your armor/accs as it drops damage way too much.
TL:DR = Lose the defensive stun break and you need to add in stealth which ruins the build in spvp. S/D is strictly a zerkish weaponset and now your have a higher chance of being killed. its enough to make it arguably not worth playing.
I doubt these patch notes are real as nobody is complaining about most of these nerfs. just some silly kitten crap really!
