Im hearing rumours about reveal...
They are considering making Revealed 3 seconds for PvE only. They are starting to balance the game separately. Meaning that each skill will be slightly different, eventually, in WvW compared to PvE.
i would be glad if they make such change
1. perma stealth near dungeon boss does NO damage to the boss
2. NPC do not get frustrated when they are killed by 6k backstab
3. a LOT of traits in SA depend on “on stealth”, nerfing if, all of them gets nerfed.
4. we have ONLY 2 aoe: cluster bomb and daggerstorm, just 1 stability skill
nerfing the thief in pve just so wvw can be happy is just wrong
as an example: dagger storm in a bunch of mobs doing 2-3k+ damage on each is ok
since a LOT of other classes can do so much better
in wvw it is considered OP, lol
just for the fun of of it, both aoe skills are 1/2 direct damage and 1/2 condition damage… never sinergizing with CG/dps build nor condition builds for max damage

Also, Basilisk Venom is the worst elite in PvE if you don´t aspect for it (and even so). So, why Anet dont make BV instant cast whit 2 seg. of duration in PvE?

BV stuns bosses ignoring defiant. It stuns Abominations even if they are “unstoppable”
It’s not that great but has it’s uses. With Venom Share it can disable a boss a rather long time for a res or a heal.

It not work in untoppable mobs, at least not anymore far i had saw, neither whit stunt resistance mobs like the jade creatures of the Jademaw Fractals. And 1.5 seg of turnig gray a legendary boss each 40 seg. is stupid for a elite, better any other. Im runnig a venom share built and i can tell you, is a not very long stun duration at least all the team rotate their attacks for that, if dont, it last 3 seg. max because BV dont stack.
If the 1 seg. cast of BV were changed in PvE to instat cast like all the others venoms, it would be a very good interrup for big bosses, working even for no SV thieves, that is what im suggesting. The 2 seg of duration, well, not needed if the casting time were intant, i can admit that.
The rumor, I believe, started from a comment by a developer that they were debating it. I’m sure that they debated it before they changed it to 4s so I’m not sure exactly what you can take away from this.
I do think they are aware they didn’t fix their presenting problem with the extension to 4s, but did manage to kill off a satisfying flowing playstyle for those using a dagger off-hand. I play s/d mostly and really miss the flow that was present at 3s. It would be great if they had folks within Anet who actually played the professions and acted as advocates for the professions. Perhaps if changes had to undergo serious scrutiny before being implemented we wouldn’t have to suffer from experiments such as this one.

Perhaps they should have more than two people responsible for the entire game’s balance, which is apparently the case. I believe one of them is a Mesmer.

Some creature types are intrinsically immune to stuns. Even a lowly jade colossus or earth elemental will be immune. But a creature that acquired immunity through defiant because it’s a champion or legendary will be vulnerable to BV. I didn’t try to stun Abominations recently though, they were vulnerable last time I tried.

A tried, BV is working in Unstoppable creatures if they dont also have inmunity to stun. Maybe that was my confusion, good to know.
