I remember a skill in Guild Wars 1 for the Assassin profession called “Way of Perfection”. This skill allowed the assassin to regain health on every critical hit they made.

Why did Arena net choose not to use this is as the name of this new upcoming trait?
(even considered that there is a difference between the thief- and assassin profession.

This is because the Thief is the spiritual successor of the Assassin in GW1, so they can’t use all the same skill names they had in GW1. I think this is the one reason why they chose Invigorating Precision to preserve the difference in the games.

Other than that, the functionality is pretty much the same.

I wish it was a healing value that scaled off healing power, not 5%. 5% is not much even if you cleaved 5 players with PW with every single hit. It is off crits only, and rather low in effect. Should be 15% with single target skills and 10% with cleaving skills, that way aoe doesn’t get called op. Remember, this trait has to stand up against executioner and hidden killer, if its going to remove a chunk of dps it should add a chunk of healing.

A guild mate and I discussed about the healing amount a thief would gain while killing an ambient creature (rabbit, frog, crab ect). It would be very funny if you almost defeated a random thief in WvW and the thief decides to kill a random passing by ambient creature, only so the thief could fully heal it’s Hp.

Huh? They already use same-exact names of Assassin skills on Thief… Maybe they just forgot about the skill or don’t know since so many devs haven’t played GW1. Or just the fact it’s a trait and not utility.

I miss the skill Critical Defense XD Assassins were so much Tankier than Thieves. :< Blocking VS Stealth. Wish it was possible to spec into one or the other in GW2.

I think they caught wind of that cuz they mentioned ambient critters don’t effect it.

They said in stream yesterday said it wouldn’t work on ambient.

exactly this. i have been saying this.

5000 backstab gives 1000 extra dmg with executioner and 250 hp with invig prec.

its obvious which to take.

also….

even auto attacks at 2000 each would give 400 dmg extra each hit on exeuctioner or only 100 hp heal on invig prec. it def needsto be at 10% minimum
