no but s/p is for sure outclassed by every other melee weapon combo

S/P and D/D are two completely different sets, you can’t really compare them and say one is strictly better. I’d compare D/D to D/P instead.

But yes, let’s say that at the moment S/P is quite bad. Infiltrator’s Strike was nerfed or, if you prefer, changed and became worse due to the change. Pistol Whip was nerfed a long time ago, but the Haste nerf killed it.

D/D still does the most damage possible as Thief, it’s just harder to play when people are too dodgie of CnD.

D/D kind of sucks as an anytime weapon. D/P is best for anytime. D/D is good for initial combo tho.

I run d/p and shortbow in spvp and d/p + d/d or s/d. Depending on what I’m fighting.

I really like d/d in wvw for the cnd-steal-backstab. People don’t react quickly in wvw. Mostly noobs.

Yes it still works, you’re still able to chain stealth in group fights and find that one squishy person. I don’t use it often myself anymore since I don’t do 1vX fights a lot anymore.

Very few people run S/P in WvW, are you sure you didn’t mean D/P?

As for your question, D/D is still perfectly viable despite how many talk about it.

if by viable you mean you can kill another class….yes it is viable in pvp. if you mean kill another class and live with more than 2 people around? nope :P not at all. d/d is usually a highly offensive based build and sacrifices alot of defense bc the weapon skills dont give you anything but damage. you only really use 5 1 and 2. or 3 and 1 depending on your build. dont plan on fighting 2-3 people and staying alive often. u might get away with it here n there but to do what d/p or p/d or s/d does…… i just cant say its doable. yes youcan go watch yishis’ video on d/d but any good player can put together a weeks worth of single fights and make it look dominant. just go try it. the same armor will be used in other builds so the best knowledge is always the knowledge you learn yourself get out there and mix it up

Seriously? S/P? You must be kidding.

s/p is ONLY for pve. :P

I am 100% D/D my build doesnt work any other way.

My build is a Death blossom spam with High Healing Power and Signet of Malice, In a 5man mob (I pve only well and wvw, not pvp) I acn heal for 4-5k per Death Blossom, then my Caltrops heals me too.

I can solo 90% Group champs and 2-3 vets in SSC at same time, the more mobs the more I heal, I do have a hard time with conditions and 1v1, I have no condition removal, so a 1v1 against a necro or a heavy condition class will kill me very easy.

But I love d/d, my Zerk build is d/d too.

In wvw I do use s/d sometimes tho, mostly SB:D/D
