It’s you. Nobody ever saw that ever and nobody talked about that in any tread before you.
Yes we all know that they changed acrobatics because they knew that dodge was their focus for the DD. Is that a bad or a wrong thing? IMO DD is better overall than Acrobatic for the dodge concept. That said, they don’t have a lot of option, they need to nerf the dodge from Acro or a Acro/DD thief would be just insane.
Where I disagree with Anet, is that they should gave Acrobatic a new personality. Now it just seem like the akward Daredevil little brother.

No, it’s not just you… It was called Feline Grace – turns out it’s a whole elite spec mechanic.
Technically, Feline Grace was probably much much better than the basic +50 endurance. But DD mecanic is the new dodges, not that small bonus.

Semantics. All that matter is the big picture.
The mecanic is that we replace our dodges with other skills. The traits are here to customise that.

Acrobatics sucks for the whole lifetime of GW2 (my opinion). There may be others who use it regularly, but most of the builds only invest enough points to get Feline Grace — other traits are trashed or negligible. Then they gutted it even further by making FG what it is now.
If they take some traits from Acro and put into DD, then we’ll have a problem because a lot of traits from Acro that they trashed are worth trashing.
What is actually happening is, while they dump the trash trait from Acro, they didn’t replace them with build worthy traits, instead of giving better traits for Acro, they gave it to DD instead.
The only noticeable trait that came from Acro is the +50 endurance, which is very similar to how Feline Grace used to perform in practical applications.
Full set of 5 unique skills for both dual-wield weapon sets: P/P and D/D – Make it happen
PvE – DD/CS/AC – If that didn’t work, roll a Reaper or Revenant.

That almost sounds like “stealth is a thief mechanic” to me, when in reality it’s steal…
I get what you’re trying to say though… that Double-D revolves around using dodges…
Thief mechanics (there are more than one) are :
- F1 Steal
- Initiative
- Dual wield skills
- Sneak attacks in Stealth <= so Stealth is a required component of the various thief mechanics
And now DD will get a 5th one :
- customisable special dodges
